So ran flat, never travelling, couldn’t go the pace, jockey shoving etc etc…….and still only gets beaten 2 lengths !,…..with CH all out being hit with the whip at least 4 times
Don’t give up on her in the CH just yet !
Have to look at the reasons why she ran like that.
I think she’s out of her comfort zone and simply couldn’t cope. Stayed on well , but she does that anyway , but race was long gone by then.
Are we forgetting that Con Hill was having his first start for a year and will have needed the run and is also still probably improving? He absolutely dicks up in the Champion Hurdle, he just does. Lossiemouth will never face him again imo
Lots of talk about horses needing the run on this forum this year.
Most of it is bollocks.
Many many horses can be trained and primed for their first run, and many many horses often run their best race of the season on their first run.
She was only beaten two lengths on ground she would prefer softer and is only a 5 year old, so maybe more improvement to come ?
As a CH trail against maybe the best hurdler we have ever seen….not bad methinks….8/1 won’t last long
Directly after the race probably isn't the best time for me to be making the lossiemouth case, as a lot of people are speaking with emotion, but if you just treat it like you would if they were any other two horses running at Cheltenham, then 8/1 is overpriced for her to turn the form around.
It's hard to believe that con hill was anything other than 100 per cent fit today, as it was no ordinary seasonal debut, and given all the doubts about him I'm sure they would have wanted to k ow for definite how good he still is. Maybe he can still find more, or maybe that's his best that we saw today. She's gotten within two lengths doing a lot wrong, and imo it's stuff that can be fixed with more experience of 2m racing and a change of track.

I doubt Constitution Hill would have been primed for today though. He would have been very much a 'just get around' job today. There is only one race he will be primed for.
8/1 is a fair price e/w if you knew she was going to run in the race as it’s going to be a small field with very few chances. But you know she has an alternative race and will probably be sweating for a while.
Think I’d rather look at other races for those sort of prices.

It’s more than reasonable to expect horses to come on for a run.
Thats been going on since I can remember and that’s a long time!!!

They talked like he was before and he ran well enough.
The point is !
There's no fucking way of knowing for sure.
Like I said, not every horse runs better on their second run of the season, many run worse.
Swings and roundabouts.
So has trainers talking bollocks.
Some fall for shit some don't.
Remember it's a betting game Cat.
Yeah it’s a betting game.
Ive always been of the opinion that his horses normally come on for a run.
Of course, I ain’t got a clue how forward CH was, nor have all those betting on the CH after the race today.
Put it this way, imo CH will benefit more from
this run than Lossiemouth will.
Time will tell though.

I know 'There is no fucking way of knowing for sure' but it is reasonable to expect him to come on for the run rather than him being 100% for today as they would have to completely lay him off and do it all again in time for March. I would hope for another run in late January/early February and i would say he will be tip top
Whether he improves for the run or not,we know he has the beating of both of Mullins best horses now over 2 miles, just have to keep him sound now until March as far as I'm concerned.
I reckon the Mullins camp will want to have one last go at CH in March. Willie said as much post race. Reckon all this Mares Hurdle talk is a bit premature.
On a pure time basis, that's probably Lossiemouths best performance. Be interesting if Burdett Road is now aimed at the Champion Hurdle as he'll be too high in the ratings for a handicap now. Sure CH will like something to give them an honest pace again.
