For Lossiemouth, you've got race fitness on your side, you've seen CH's poor gallop and Paul and Willie probably want an answer on whether she's good enough. CH 2 worst performances over 2m for me have been at Kempton as well.
If she's beaten handily, they then know she's a Mares horse again. If she's only beaten a couple of lengths, they may feel she'll be better at Cheltenham. If she wins, she goes Champion Hurdle.
If she's beaten handily, I'd like to see them do something different with her than the Mares though.
Really they have nothing to lose in running Lossi imo
She fails to muck it at his level, then they are pretty sure she ain’t winning the CH. And it’s no disgrace losing to him if he’s anywhere near his best.
However she may prove worthy.
Either way it gives them what they need, and I’m not sure their is another way, if they want to know now.
Then they can look at her options in plenty of time.

Really, she’s the perfect CH horse .
She jumps well, travels nicely, has speed for 2m and stays very strongly over further.
Absolutely perfect for a CH.
Yes it’s possible she’s just not as good as him, but not a given.

How do we all think the Xmas Hurdle will be run ?
IMO Lossiemouth has the more explosive finish so does Constitution Hill push on from the off and try and gallop his way to success or do both of them sit in behind something??

I still think he's put up some of the best ever performances of a 2m hurdler, IF he retains that ability he wins, IMO.
Massive ask first time up against a race fit, improving mare who also gets 7lbs!

Oh, I agree. CH is the best Hurdler I've seen in my life time and I've been around for a very long time. It's all about whether he retains that ability. Something connections and punters will not find out until he is in a proper race. Lossiemouth for me has the potential to be the best Mare I've seen so it's an incredible match up. Can't wait !!

A prime Constitution Hill beats her in a sprint or if he makes it a test. If its a test, you only need to look at the Supreme.
If its a slower pace, look at the Christmas Hurdle in 2022, his debut against Might I, even his fighting fifth. In that he went under 13s per furlong in the finish when making Epatante look ordinary. In his Supreme he went well under 13s per furlong when drawing away from Jonbon. His turn of foot and speed is historically great.
She 100% does not have a more explosive finish than him. She's shown a very good turn of foot but put Constitution Hill against Teahupoo in a slow race. He puts way more than 4 lengths into Teahupoo in a furlong sprint finish.
If he's near his best, it's never going to a sprint finish anyway. Nico has always injected the pace 3 to 4 furlongs to go then he ups it again.
The question is whether he's at his best. I think Nico rides him like he is, goes from the front and he'll put an injection of pace coming round the bend, and then again after the 2nd last. Whatever he does, Townend will need to make sure he's not more than a length ahead of him because we've seen that Constitution Hill can make one length quickly multiple and it's game over if Townend doesn't ask the question at the right time.
Could all be pointless though if he isn't near his best.

If he's at his best he won't come off the bridle.
She simply won't be able to cope with the injection of pace his cruising speed allows.
If he's not at his best then it could be an interesting race.
Let's just hope he does come back at or very near his best as this horse was giving frankel vibes the way he was winning his races. Breaking course records without being asked for an effort.
A genuine superstar. A once in a generation type of horse.

What would people suggest would be some sort of evidence that he’s back to very close to top form ?
Seems like everyone will downgrade any victory for Lossiemouth and say he’s not at his best.
Which would make sense as he’s clearly a freak. Or was.
But if she beats him and they finish 10l or more clear of third in a really good time, would she finally get the credit.
I do think she’s suffered in her career in respect of each time she’s turned in a performance- most have found a reason to downplay it somehow.
A lot of it has been valid though IMO
I just think she’s been unfortunate in that regard and is underrated as a result
Fingers crossed she runs as I’ve not seen Willie make any clear comment in respect of her coming over, unless I’ve missed it. But he’s been more forthcoming about other horses travel plans etc.

If the clash does happen then I think he needs to run to a minimum of 170, anywhere near 180 then he’s a shoe in, of course.
I just doubt it’ll happen as it goes against everything Willie has said this season.
Just makes it petty and futile keeping her apart from her inferior stable mate state man IMO.
