There’s no doubt in my mind that BDA is a horse that stays further and probably would get 3m ok.
Gut feeling is she would be out speeded in a CHurdle.
Maybe if it’s really soft they may give it a go
Probably be a late decision depending on ground.
This season reminds me of the Apples Jade season when Cromwell got the "pumped" Espoir to win the Champion by miles.
Basically, the established horses fell away and two mares ended up at the head of the market then a fucking 5 year old won.
Don't forget the O'learys were still saying mares for apples after she smashed the boys in the Irish champion that year Lobos
For what it's worth, this mare BDA looks a bit cumbersome and can see why they might go over further.
But she's clearly sharp enough and a soft ground champion could suit easily.
Except Lossiemouth is almost certainly IMO a few pounds better.
She'll be entered for both but I do believe she'll go CH as there will be plenty of juice in the ground. She'll get beat by Lossiemouth though which goes without saying.
Well whatever one thinks or says, BDA has just beaten a lot better horse than any horse Lossiemouth has ever beaten.
If they do meet I would not be confident about the outcome at all.
Only if you lay me some her not turning up in the CH. The race is wide open with CH sadly looking shot now and they just won't miss that chance. Getting that allowance as well !! JK knows the score.
I think if bda runs the champion hurdle like today she turns it into a staying contest. if stateman could not kick on from the last I think there is a doubt if any other horse, bar a fit conny hill, could.
really hope bda does come here...makes it a much more interesting race imo

Yep. Definitely would make it more interesting
Could get a few at it out of their comfort zone earlier than they would like.
Been a rather interesting last few days to put it mildly!!

Agree but think she would set it up nicely for Lossiemouth who also stays, jumps better and has a better turn of foot.
Could argue the race fitness excuse for State Man today but he's usually fairly revved up for the Morgiana, so struggling to see it myself.
He's never at his best at Cheltenham either, IMO, so I'd be looking elsewhere. Luckily hadn't played him this year yet but has to be Lossie or Sir Gino for me now IF Constitution Hill doesn't come back.
Only just managed to watch it back. Great race. I really enjoyed it.
I think Winter Fog was ridden to attain his best position and has probably run to his best of 150 or near enough. So on a line through that, it’s looks a slightly sub par State Man, but only by a couple of lbs for this time of the year. That may have been the mistake at the last.
I thought Jack was wrestling with BDA a little, having to force her head to the right - she naturally wants to hang left. There could be a few lbs improvement for going LH.

Totally agree with you here COD, I've got con hill backed but can't be confident now that he'll be the same horse or even make the gig and lossie and sir gino are the two i will look to get onside more, already had some on lossie and backed sir gino the other day twar, I've got nothing on state man and won't look to either, if he wins it again I'll just have to admit i got it wrong !

Agree. I've watched the race back a couple of times and SM looked pretty straight to me. Don't believe the mistake at the last stopped him winning either. The Mare did great.
