  • Jack Kennedy's smile was a mile wide after Brighterdaysahead (9/4) downed reigning Champion Hurdler State man in an epic renewal of the Grade 1 Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown.

          • It'll be fine,I'm just glad they found something,as it's around the pastern where its just bone it means there was no swelling hence the lack of idea as to why he was lame, just hope it's not something that'll keep happening *Crosses fingers*

            • I’d say after watching GE talking that BDA is mor likely to go Mares
But as said earlier, not sure about trusting anything I hear!!

Yep, prize money makes it a no brainer imo
Lot more cash for the FF and Xmas Hurdle, and a lot easier for the horse staying hurdling I would think
And win those two the CH is a serious chance, and a lot more cash there as well.

I mean yeah I'm sure he will be hard to beat, but I'd think Gordon will fancy his chances at Leopardstown, the track will suit her much more than Punchestown.

I thought Ruby's comments post race were much more interesting. His initial reaction was that State Man might not necessarily be able to reverse things if they meet again at Christmas or the DRF. I guess it boils down to how much of an improved State Man we'll see vs how much better BDA will be going left handed. My assumption is both factors offset each other and we are in for another great race.

Real question is where does Lossiemouth finish
Long bitcoin, long gold, long silver, long g/s opening day Cheltenham Festival

Would the track suit much more?

Sharp enough track Leopardstown really, and more likely to be nice ground (depending if they go Xmas or wait for DRF - Gordon said maybe just the 1 before chelt now)

She'd again have to make the running and against a fitter SM, he came there to win his race today and just tied up/made a mess of the last also

Could be a little bias from me with a good price on her for the Mares aswell

                    • I’d agree and if he hadn’t have made a hash of the last he would have won. Not comfy by any means, she also didn’t jump great and jumped right so excuses for both and she’s come out on top.

Absolutely no chance. Another duo having us on.

Only if you lay me some her not turning up in the CH. The race is wide open with CH sadly looking shot now and they just won't miss that chance. Getting that allowance as well !! JK knows the score.

I think that long run in at Leopardstown off a strong pace would suit her more than Punchestown. She jumps to her left giving ground away which was pretty evident today. That won't be an issue next time up.

If I was to guess, I can see her being given a break now until February. Irish Champion hurdle, Champion Hurdle, Aintree. If somehow she did manage to win the Champion Hurdle they go chasing with her to try and do a Dawn Run. Then we get to listen to Michael O'leary telling us how much of a genius he is
