Went out for a nice walk this morning, and found myself thinking about this race, in particular how Mr M will approach the race , with the possibility of having three real good chances of running big races.
So looking at how many imo are likely to line up.
State Man excepting any kind of setback is certain to line up i would think.
Now it’s the other two that is getting me thinking much more.
I don’t think both Lossie and Ballyburn will turn up here.
My reasoning on that mainly involves CHill.
If CH is thought of by WM as back to be around his best then I cannot see him chucking all 3 at the race , as he won’t want 2nd, 3rd and 4th, not when two of those could win other races on the day.
If CH is looking vulnerable during the season then he has SM and may look at one of them as a back up but he would not need both imo, and might not need either if CH just don’t come back.
The thought of winning three races on the first day has to play a part imo, plus he’s probably going to have one or two with good chances for the Supreme.
I guess owner’s opinions/desires could come into this, but imo it will be the trainer that decides.
With Ballyburn and Lossie, I think it all hinges on how the fence schooling goes for Bally and for Lossie it all hinges on the way that CH is looking after his runs, and also how the Mares hurdle is shaping up for the chances of his other mares, plus of course if she’s looking so good during the season and it become clear she has to go CHurdle.
With Lossie it’s a lot easier to make a later decision anyway as it’s hurdles whatever.
But trickier obviously for Ballyburn, as it’s hurdles or fences.
Anyway, just my thoughts .
Next couple of months going to be fascinating!!

The way I see it is if CH is back to his best - he wins
if he doesn’t, state man wins (possibly Lossie)
so I don’t think Ballyburn is needed in the equation and will go chasing. I think they already know this and are only delaying the announcement for bookies benefit and possibly an injury to state man / lossie in the short term which would see ball burn as a super sub for the Morgiana
