Ruby said pre race, they go faster than 31mph they’ll be in trouble, yet post race doing 34mph on average whole way.

Edit - agree with H Fly though, the MPH counter was only hitting 33/34mph couple times as I was checking it. First half mile they were up at that speed but dropped after that and even more after KOK’s mistake.

She was around 20 lengths quicker than the Mares who raced over further from crossing the line first time to the finish, and the Mares were incredibly quick. State Man obviously massively underperformed but that's a massive effort.

The problem we have here is, GE doesnt have many in his yard going into the Fez with a good chance
BDA looks to be his best chance to win something. Will he want to go up against a race that has Con Hills, and potentially Lossiemouth or wait as long as possible and take the easier route for a Cheltenham fez win

I think 1 or 2 things needs to happen

1) made the mares race a conditions race now, 0-140 or something like that, which pushes the top class mares to the CH and allowing the others to compete
2) remove the mares allowances from the grade 1's, force the top class mares to race against each other in the mares races

I'd prefer to see option 1

I dont want to be seeing mares winning 2 x graded races over 2 miles, only to go to cheltenham and run in a 'less competitive race'.

I know different tracks are pointless comparing but they’ve ran that race quicker than the Xmas hurdle by 0.4s.

Leopardstown a stiffer track than Kempton as well.

Annoyingly no other 2m race on the card today for some sort of comparison. Kempton the Hendos mare was 11 seconds slower in the maiden hurdle than the Xmas hurdle carrying pretty much a stone less.
