  • As some have already said, really disappointing we didn’t see the clash that was expected, MP was beaten way out, disappointing run

    • What do we think is next for Mystical Power? That step up in trip that's been mooted on here, surely?

The Supreme & general 2m novice hurdle festival form looks to be very suspect, they were below par on ratings and run by run they’re showing it on course, Firefox could patch it up somewhat tomorrow but overall it doesn’t look very strong at all,

In comparison the Juvenile form looks very solid, they seemed to be a well above average bunch on the whole. I’ll be keeping that in mind going forward…

A drop in grade I'd imagine, try to find somewhere to re build his confidence

Willie said he schooled brilliantly and that chasing would be an option - probably next year. After that performance, why not roll the dice and go chasing this year?

I just can't see him running in The Champion hurdle if Constitution Hill is fit and State Man runs.

AP McCoy said Sir Gino schools brilliantly over fences and he looks like an Arkle horse. It will be interesting though to see how he is campaigned this season. If he stays over hurdles this season he has to be a max bet for the 2026 Arkle surely?
State Man has just got beat.
Sure the owners would be glad to have another in the race with a good chance, especially if that one is unbeaten.
See your point re Con Hill, but imo with all that’s happened and still happening, I can see both in the CH even if he runs at Kempton.
Also think it may well be too late to get enough Chase experience for him to run in what looks to me to be a very good Arkle.
Hes still only 4 as well.
Plenty of time still to go Chasing, although if he win the CH……?

Remember going into the Fez back in March thinking the novices were poor, and it looks to be the case. On the other hand, i think we’re starting to see ex-juvenile being campaigned in a way where they are starting to get results going into their 3rd season, thinking the likes of Gaelic Warror, IET, Lossie.

Sir Gino showing yesterday he’s above the avg novices from last season

One to monitor and consider, as I do believe things are shifting

I'd imagine Teahupoo will be 100% for this seeing as he'll be put away until March. The 2 Elliot horses I'd imagine will be sent out ahead to make it a truly run affair. She could gas out after the last against a horse that will be doing his best work late.

Got to otherwise they are just playing into Lossiemouths hands on this ground. Wouldn't be surprised if Teahupoo was pulled but not sure they have a plan B...

                      • Yeah, for the first time, I’m concerned about Lossiemouth now but my TWAF bet is on and can’t do much now but to watch and hope

will be someone i will more down for next season, who has been prep’ed to be near 100% to win these early grade 1’s and don’t be afraid to take on Mullins short odds ons

Reckon the ground will help you

                          • 27 mph first 3 hurdles...if Lossie doesn't win in a sprint here then I'd be disappointed as a champion hurdle backer.

Haha was thinking the same, even more so on that ground.

She was very good when asked but that was definitely run run to suit Teahupoo at all!

                              • They wound it up as best as they could but - class vs good staying horse.
                                Class every time for me.
Won easy enough even after a pretty bad mistake 3rd last.
She'd have done the same on soft before anyone starts.
