I wonder what might’ve happened had Absurde or Kitzbuhel run as a genuine no.2. Or Impaire et Passé stayed over hurdles. It does seem odd that there was no thought to sending a genuine no.2 from such a strong stable.

I know he has the McManus horse in the stayers by the way.

Ironically, that’s the horse who really hasn’t performed yet he goes. It’s odd that Gaelic, El Fab, IEP etc who have at run poor to middling this year don’t go, but Mystical Power who had been a stage left job does.
