He is the horse of a lifetime. The sort of horse that get's people into racing. I always had a passing interest in racing until Frankel came along and then i just had to tune in and watch wherever he ran and whatever i was doing at the time. I was in Dalton-In-Furness for the weekend of his Guineas run. It wasn't available on mobile as readily then and it was the sleepiest little place you could imagine but i found a bookies near the train station. I had to stand right at the back near the door because you literally couldn't move. It was packed out to see Frankel and what a race to watch. Everybody streamed out afterwards. That's the kind of impact a superstar has on the sport. He will always be my favourite no matter what comes along so for me, Constitution Hill coming back sound is just as important as any bet i or anyone has had on him.

    So sod Lossiemouth

I hear you Yosser Frankel was the horse that made me fall in love with the sport, he's even incorporated in my mid-life crisis tattoo along with Stellar Story, who made my Cheltenham last year. Had a split interest in the flat and NH initially believing flat was the pure sport, a 5f sprint being the true test of a top horse but up to a mile bringing in some tactics. Then one year I properly watched Cheltenham and I was hooked. Altior, Sprinter Sacre got my blood flowing. Still frustrating when your horse falls but that now adds to the excitement a bit. And would love Constitution Hill to return at full ability as he induced a similar effect to Frankel

      • As everyone knows on here I was a massive Honeysuckle fan and dearly wanted her to win the CH again in 2023. However, there was this new kid on the block that had demolished the Supreme field and threatened her dominance. I was in Town with the boys on Hennessy day watching the big race in a pub but decided to pop over the betting shop on my own to have a look at the enemy in the FF. I was hoping at the start of the race deep down that he'd not look as good in Open company but by the end of the race I was stood clapping murmuring a few of my infamous wowser shouts at what I'd just seen. He took my breath away. It was a sensational performance. He was the new superstar. I went back to the pub and the boys were waiting for my answer . ....'Well Lobos, will he beat Honeysuckle?'............'Yes' was my simple reply. That's all they needed to hear to know how good he was.

        • Fighting talk from Patrick......

"State Man took advantage of Constitution Hill going for dinner rather than the racetrack last March. It was a perfect season, five from five. He isn't pretty, he isn't flash, he isn't Constitution Hill. But right now, they have the same number of Champion Hurdles. So let's hope they both get to keep their reservation come March."
Mullins also pointed out that State Man has stablemates who could also have a say in the race, adding: "Perhaps Lossiemouth will come and spoil the party. Or Mystical Power might emulate his mother, Annie Power, if he doesn't go chasing. It could be an absolute tinderbox of a race."

Ballyburn not mentioned above.........champion Hurdle idea dumped then I assume.

          • Patrick Mullins essentially said Lossiemouth will run wherever State Man and Constitution Hill don't until the Champion Hurdle. On that basis, I think we can be all but certain she will line up here or be nowhere near good enough.

And not even a stutter from Patrick or Ruby when Ballyburn was mentioned as being a novice chaser for the year. Ruby put him up as his chaser to follow.

            • Nicky Henderson on CONSTITUTION HILL, per @SportingLife:

"Constitution Hill isn’t the greatest name he could have because his constitution is a little bit vulnerable. We have to mind him day and night because he can change shape very dramatically

Definitely need options on side for this race, can see CH being pulled for having an itchy tail at this rate

Have to say he didn't sound over bullish about him in his Stable Tour but perhaps he's just trying to tame things down a bit in view of what happened last season and punters getting their fingers burnt.

Think that was always going to be the case with Lossiemouth. It does offer punters some great value in the Mares Hurdle though which is a plus.

Yep, looks like the Dawn Run dream has been dumped for Ballyburn doesn't it.

                  • Where is Sir Gino likely to go, can he go Supreme or could be go straight to the Champ Hurdle? Reading cynically between the lines could be go instead of The Hill? "We'll see how high he can go"

Sir Gino isn't a novice so he can't go to the Supreme

                      • Those comments re Constitution Hill do not read well at all. The Stable Tour with Sporting Life is well worth a read in full, but the following part really caught my attention. "Constitution Hill isn’t the greatest name he could have because his constitution is a little bit vulnerable. We have to mind him day and night because he can change shape very dramatically"

Maybe Nicky is just being extra cautious with his words this year, but he really doesn't sound easy to keep right.

Substitute for Constitution Hill I'd say if he doesn't make it.

Nickname from when playing Footy. Stay with me.......My name is Carl. That was at first lengthened to Carlos....then changed to Lossy.....then changed to Los Lobos....then shortened to Lobos which finally stuck. Boring I know but that's where it came from.

I then named my Restaurant in London after it.
