Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

I knowthewayyurthinkin looks odds on to get supplemented for the Gold cup now.
And would not surprise me if they put Corbetts in the stayers either.

Just a bit sticky at his jumps and has not improved this season on that front. Although I do think Cheltenham would be more suitable as it's not unusual for a horse like Pic D'ory, jump with so much tempo and rhythm to make other horses look like they've got the wrong shoes on.
Kempton a similar track for that type of thing also.
I'm fortunate to go to a lot of meetings here in Ireland, around 30-40 each year. Find myself clocking Frank Berry more often than not, either on the course or in the car park before/after racing.

Frank's life must be what be what it must be like working in the public sector, happily spending another man's money. A bottomless ditch of funds to tap into, the supplementary amounts must be little more than loose change to the main man.

Yes, they should give up with CC and fences and see how he is over a trip over the smaller obstacles.

They're just consistently light on entries and seem to favour narrowing options more than other connections that have similar ammunition/money.
Just a surprising way of going about things.

The only reasoning I can think of is that lack of options means more focus, and the money side is no object .

Not gay though so had to put a stop to his overtures.

Shishkin's Ascot shoes didn't help him against Envoi though did it ? - which was the point.

Not sure about the narrative comments, as I don't really care if corbetts is supplemented, I wouldn't expect much as he looks overrated on 166 - although, after this conflab -it would be amusing if they did and he won.

You know exactly what I'm on about so don't make me chase you around Brighton.....

Undecided if he'll go to the Gold Cup now according to ITV Racing

As per Graham Cunningham on Sporting Life

                • If Corbetts Cross doesn't go to the GC, wonder what that means for Fact to File?

Of course McManus doesn't have to have a GC runner. Hasn't had many runners recently. None since 2022, Chantry House, and 2021, Champ.

So, answering my own question. FtF goes still to the Ryanair where he has a favourite's chance.

                    • I do think 40/1 is a fair enough price with 365 ante post

Such a likeable horse, for me anyway!

Obviously hope GDC just sluices up but something has to run in behind

                      • ….Grey Dawning;

’At the moment, the idea is to go to Kelso with Grey Dawning and then Aintree. I will leave him in the Gold Cup just in case something untoward happened with the opposition and I don’t wish that upon them of course. Maybe I would have looked at this race differently if he had won at Haydock, but he didn’t, and I feel if you go to Kelso and Aintree, it gives us two chances of running twice. If he went for the Gold Cup, we would only have run him once. We need to do what is right for the horse, short and long term, I think it gives us a chance to win those races and long term maybe we can get some experience and come back a Gold Cup horse next year. Of course, I am disappointed not to be going for a Gold Cup that I thought last year we would be going for, but you have to be open to change with horses. He is in great form, looks outstanding and I think he will take a lot of beating at Kelso and if things go well at Kelso he will turn up at Aintree. I think he has recovered from Haydock to go to Kempton and what happened at Kempton was that the mistake at the first put us on the back foot and the speed that Il Est Francais went made the three milers look like four milers that day and put us all on the back foot. It was just one of those days and it didn’t work out for him - put it in the bin and he has come out of it fine.

                        • Monty’s Star is poised to take on dual winner Galopin Des Champs in the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

The eight-year-old has run only twice this season, finishing second at Tramore on New Year’s Day before coming home fifth behind Galopin Des Champs in the Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown.

De Bromhead added: “He seems in great form now. He had a couple of setbacks earlier on in the season but we’re on a good run with him now.

“He ran really well in the Irish Gold Cup and will improve from that run.

“Obviously, Galopin Des Champs is very good; he’ll be really hard to beat but we hope our lad could run into a place or even better than that.”

So little juice in his price IMO with the form he's in

If Henry's having a good week I'll worry myself into the saver each way but at the moment he's just a big old hole ....and I don't usually have many of them

I just can't have Monty's Star at all. He has won one chase and normally finishes second ahead of American Mike, Sandor Clegan and Three Card Brag. I just can't have him. (Watch him win now)

                                100% with you here

I'm sure he's a fun horse to own but he's never been in my eye line for a Festival race and if he places it likely shows how little depth there is in the GC this year
