Not Willie's choice where F2F goes. Can't see him sending Galopin to Tramore either.

I disagree. F2F put his head down and went again running up to the line. He needed every bit of that 2 1/2m and will be better for stepping up again. He is such an uncomplicated horse. Can put him anywhere. Jumps economically, travels and responds when asked. He's the real deal.

It's good to disagree and debate, it's how everyone learns.
F2F won what was for me a poor BANC and has to prove he stays a Gold Cup test, Galopin doesn't...

Willie might not want that, but JP might

                Both

ive always liked this horse for the King George, and would like to see him in the Ryanair.

He’s just below the very top top grade 1 horses when it comes take the bigs races at the fez. The KG this year looks weak, especially if Willie keeps most of his in Ireland during the Xmas period

Yep, he might. I was thinking more Galopin going Tramore as Willie was contemplating giving him a slightly easier time .

He's out performed everyones expectations there after having a small setback last month or so. I'd be hoping they go for the savills again, as that was arguably his best performance we've seen there last season

Yes he does have to prove he stays, but watching how he jumps and travels and finishes his racing I think he will stay ok.
Will he stay well enough to beat GDC though?
Thats the big question and won’t be answered till March.
FTF has proved he has a fair mix of speed and staying power which is what you want from a Gold Cup horse.
Personally right now I would side with the champ, but not confident enough to part with much cash!!

                        Yep, love a good debate.

Maybe he was just an outstanding horse in the BANC a bit like Ballyburn in the Gallagher's. They can't help who else is in there. Both won with ease and both have taken a good step forward in their new seasons. He stayed well enough and more in the BANC in testing conditions and was very strong through the line then and today, but of course he does still has it to prove.

                        • Mullins declared: “What a race! I was trying to keep an eye on them all and I think it’s a testament to the race that the horse that tried to keep up with Galopin Des Champs, Grangeclare West, had to pull up before the last.

“I thought we were beaten when Spillane’s Tower came up alongside us halfway up the run-in, so it just shows that he’s made that leap from novice company to senior company that he could pull out more. I love that in a horse, that he could pull out a bit extra to get home.

“Mark said he took a blow but stayed on well to win. He’s over 17 hands but an athletic horse with it. He has a lovely temperament and true grit.

“It was a hell of a race, and I think all these horses are going to win big races between now and the end of the season.

“It’s fantastic that Punchestown have brought the race back to this time of the season and all these horses can recover in time to run around Christmas.

“I don’t know where they will go next but Fact To File and Galopin Des Champs could both run at Leopardstown.”

                          • Jimmy Mangan, trainer of Spillane’s Tower, said: “I’m absolutely over the moon, delighted with him. He hasn’t been on grass since he won here at the Festival. You couldn’t really because the ground has been so firm.

“There is everything to look forward to but don’t ask me where he will run next, as I couldn’t tell you. He has options between two and a half miles and three miles and last year’s novice form is working out well.

“It was a great race and you had the best of horses and the best of jockeys.”

                            • So not the Gold Cup then by the sounds of it.

                              • I have it in mind that a couple of weeks ago on this forum there was info that FtF would go Ryanair - has that all changed? Personally I would love to see him go down the GC route. Will he stay (yes in my opinion) will he stay as well as GdC probably not at this stage but as a 2nd season Nov then by March I think he might. But having the chance to prove it is going to be interesting.
