Big drift on FTF today - think he opened joint fav, now out to 5s. GDC 7/2 into 5/2 despite the reported interrupted prep. We saw Down Memory Lane win despite the drift but never good to see those JP horses drift.
I am going to be paying close attention to Grangeclare West. He has all the ability and is probably the last contender at a big price. I have already blindly covered him for the Ryanair and Gold Cup. Every chance he needs today though but the biggest question is if he stays sound afterwards.
I've backed him for the race today and tempted to back him win today and festival but he's fragile, i found that out last year when he missed the banc, once bitten and all that !
Fantastic performance by him, but Galopin will prefer a stiffer test, that I'm absolutely certain of. If Galopin comes out and wallops him at Leopardstown then Ryanair will absolutely come back into play.
Let's not forget, Min won 3 John Durkans and Allaho one and neither of them saw a Gold Cup.
It's as much a starting point for a Ryanair contender as it is a Gold Cup contender for Willie.

No, i was being serious COD. I think it's the perfect result. Let's hope and pray they all go to the Irish Gold Cup. We will find out a lot more then. But they now know that FTF can do the middle distance and beat the best.
