Always thought one of Fact To File or Galopin would go to Tramore on New Years Day. Doesn't sound like that's gonna happen - fairly sure I read somewhere that FTF probably goes Leopardstown but Tramore has been a useful race for Willie in the past so seemed to make sense that he'd go there with one of them to me rather than King George, which Gaelic is made for imo.

I wonder if they'll mind Galopin this time round with a view to the triple shot ??., maybe only see him once somewhere .. Leopardstown ??..

They are going to go the same route, if one is skipped it'll be the John D but that would be forced rather than planned.

I actually thought Fact To File made more sense - 7 lifetime runs at the age of 7. Thought he could do Tramore, DRF, Festival, but couldn't marry that with him probably running in the John Durkan so I never mentioned it before.

As I say, doesn't seem to matter now as I'm sure there's a quote in Racing Post about him going to Leopardstown (and John Durkan it seems)...

“Fact To File is going to stay at home and go for the John Durkan at Punchestown and then on to Leopardstown at Christmas.
“The King George is a race we’re always interested in for the right horse, but there’s such good racing on at Leopardstown at the same time and focusing on there cuts down on things such as travel at that time of year.”

Tramore was mentioned by Willie as an option in one of his videos for F2F ...........he did chuckle a bit after though.

Willie did say in his video that GDC could have one less race in the spring but then went on to say they don't like changing things.

What is it with people tipping up donkeys like gerri colombe or Corbett's cross

Galopin des champs is in another league to these ... Three gold cups in a canter

I'd say a factor could be that GDC may miss the JD, and end up at Xmas in the Savills on seasonal debut, which could well have played a factor.

                          Can't blame em

One day trainers will realise there would be no sport without punters.
