I reckon he’s fucked up and forgotten to enter him. Why mention supplementing otherwise? If that is the case, I wish he’d just do a Hendo, cough to it and put everyone straight.

I genuinely can't think of another logical explanation for today's comments

Gerri Colombe...
“We had a good weekend, we had eight winners and a lot of placed horses, but I suppose the one horse who didn’t run well was Gerri Colombe, who just never took hold of the bridle and to me he looked beat after a couple of fences,” said Elliott.
“We’ve found a couple of little things, we’ll iron them out and have him right for Christmas, all being well.”

Gerri....
"Gerri Colombe seems to be fine since Down Royal but I was disappointed with him," said Elliott. "He always gives you everything but I thought the writing was on the wall very early at Down Royal so he didn't run his race. He'll probably go to the Savills now and we'll keep him on the original route.

Ahead of Grey Dawnings Betfair chase run I read the following........
Horses from the Turners field have run 14 times collectively since Cheltenham and only one of those performances resulted in a win – the ninth home, Sharjah, landed a novice handicap chase at Ayr’s Scottish National meeting in April.

Always surprises.me when Willie Mullins supposedly has dozen of horses going novice chasing, and a lot of them were decent quality hurdlers.
Then we get to March and he doesn't have all 3 Chetlenham Novice Chases well covered with 2 or 3 quality ones.
It's 2017 since he's won the Turners.
If you give him Galopin would have won that awful sham of a 4 horse race in 2022, then he's won 1 out of 7.
Hes done better with 2 wins in 9 years in the BANC, including Fact To File this year.
Even better with the Arkle and 6 wins in 10 years.
I think a lot of us used to try and sift out who WPM would put Paul Townend up on in the Novice Chases, thinking he could sweep the board in those 3 Grade 1 Chases.
Now it's only the two Grade 1s, but with what we hope will be a top class Grade 2 Novice Hcap in between.
Be interesting how the BHA capper frames that when the time arrives and he has to assess the Irish contenders.
Maybe Willie could treble those three Grade 1and 2 Novice Chases this year under the new format anyway.
Whatever happens the winner could still end up a Grade 1 winner afterwards.
"Journeys to Glory, breathing in his head".

5s? 6s?
Wouldn't surprise me if he was beaten a good way given the trip and him having a slight setback. I wasn't expecting him to run and them just to get him ready for Xmas.
He’s 7/2 just now, I’d say 4/1 maybe 9/2 if you’re lucky.

The BANC has also had a few winners/placed horses that flopped the following season, or at least struggled in their first race back
Might Bite, one of the exceptions that won next time out and then went on to winning grade 1’s
a few lost first time out but improved
others failed to deliver at all
Fact To File…. hmmmm
Every year these novices going into open company, they’re the nice and shiny bew toy, the hope of a future star, but often fail to deliver outside of novice company
turners has a poor records, but the BANC…. think it’s worth waiting to back the like of fact to file, once that may improve as season goes on
