Hopefully he lays down the law and forces fact to file into the ryanair.
This would be a great result for me too

    • What’s with this Ryanair talk for FTF?
Is it just bets placed? Or do people think he ain’t a Gold Cup horse?
Im genuinely interested in why he should not go Gold Cup.

I don't think anyone thinks it is definitive he doesn't go to the Gold Cup.

charlie posted some info a while back that the Ryanair could be a possibility for FTF. His price was 20s/25s, so obviously people took that as cover.

Some on here have also voiced concern about the Gold Cup trip but again, noone really knows and today's race against GdC will help find out.

If he confirms placings with GdC again today, I doubt anyone will think he goes to the Ryanair.

          Thanks TH
          Ok understand.
Ive not seen anything that suggests he won’t get the gold cup trip. Yes he beats GDC then he will be gold cup
bound still, although it still don’t mean he gets home in a gold cup.
I guess if he won going away it would mean being more confident he would, as would him getting beat but staying on I would think.
          Anyway, intriguing stuff
          Cheers

For me he very much reminds me of Allaho.

I was taken with his performance over 2m5f last season when he took Gaelic Warrior to places he hadn't been to before.

I didn't think he finished as strongly as I expected in the Brown Advisory, I think Mark Walsh said something similar too.

He's just won over 2m3f on a flatter track than Cheltenham.

He's athletic, as Willie has said.

But most importantly, I don't think he'll beat Galopin Des Champs over the Gold Cup trip.

From a financial perspective, he's actually a slightly bigger winner for me in the Gold Cup than the Ryanair in singles but I have added him for more in the Ryanair in some multiples so maybe there is some slight bias as to why I want him in the race, but I wouldn't say it was greatly influenced by where my cash is!

Interesting you list some fair points re maybe not going Gold Cup, but you have backed him, so I guess you think he’s a big runner despite those points.
I don’t think he would beat GDC either at Cheltenham, but I do think he’s worthy of running in the race, and would not dismiss him.
              See what happens today.

              • I think its pretty simple for me

If he wins today, barring him absolutely falling over the line, he'd be long odds on to be going for a GC

If he's beaten today, with the winner pulling away, long odds on he goes Ryanair

I'll be waiting to pull the trigger on either as a top up asap

It does seem to be a bit of a theme in here re him going Ryanair.
                  Maybe it will happen.
I just never thought he would after watching the BANC and still don’t.
But as said, see what happens today.
                  I could change my mind.

Yeah, I backed him as part of a special @ 20/1 to win BANC & Gold Cup, in the hope he would win the BANC by a fair way. Thought he was very good in the BANC, but I wasnt as blown away as I thought I would be. Wouldn't surprise me if Monty's Star improved past him over a longer trip too.

                      Ah ok understand.
Yes, Monty’s is one I’m interested in as well.

                        Spot on Jim

IMO FTF needs to prove his staying ability in open company…….today is key…..i don’t think he had much left in last years BANC and agree with COD that Monty’s Star may improve past him over the GC trip

If you fancy FTF for the GC then surely you need to a saver on Monty’s Star?

                        • It's a watching race today for sure. The form of Willies will be really tested in this so, if there is anything amiss, then for those having a bet it might be best to play some EW outside of the big two ?

So given that the yard has a ? How can we view the performance of FTF re the festival with any confidence? Unless he pissed up I guess!! But even then we would have a ? over GDC.

You got it right the first time (It's a watching race) I personally think with Paul back and it being Galloping Des Champs he just wins, CD and gold cup winner this will be his bread and butter. Fact to file still has to prove it (imo) but can see him being up there (2nd) as for an ew angle, this isn't one of those races! The 2 I've already mentioned already tske the places so realistically you are backing for 1 more place, no value there. The shroodies have already latched on to Cromwells and that price is now around 8s which is skinny now imo. Something else could hit the frame at double digits but again I don't see the value in that personally as no real opinion on who could be, Conflated potentially? But does he want to ruin his mark? But again weighing it up, just watch, enjoy and analyse it afterwards!

I'm in your camp re F2F. He's the GC winner IMO. Just horrible to even think of him dropping into a Ryanair because, let's be honest, that's just for the cast offs. He's not one of those.
