Probably not but ran very credible races last season with a view to the spud though, maybe not Grade 1 though. He was an early pick for the race on here. If it comes up heavy and he wins the BANC would that be a fluke or just need heavy conditions to be at his best? Jukebox made it a decent test so could be he needs that to show Grade 1 form.

      • Not convinced re the Pipe firm from last year

Prob more likely winners of Browns than BDA & that might include SS…,,Spuds form looks much stronger

            Don’t Rooster

He's 180 in those conditions is he not?

              • Still think Croke Park is the classier of the Gordon runners. He's comfortably their number 1 BANC horse after today. Still won't be good enough to trouble the top 2 though.

                • You can look at it two ways I suppose

Stellar Story surprised them today and booked his place in the BANC, and with a festival win in his pocket he's a worthy challenger to the perceived better horse they have in Better Days Ahead - who still got the job done

Or, Stellar Story today means Elliott doesn't have something good enough to win in

History has told us that hurdles form is only part of the answer, so Dancing City in particular shouldn't be written off (I know no-one is) but arguably is he 'too short' ... and we know he's likely to be the stable number 2 on jockey bookings

It's a very interesting race still - which is great - long live Jack Richards

Think that’s the main take out here.
the Mullins horses are probably under priced.

Ballyburn will need to start getting those kind of confidence 'Fact To File' vibes and storng backing in to odds on for me to think he's not one to perhaps take on (I've built a book so that's hypothetical) but just in terms of who I think will win it

I have a feeling he won't be as strong, as therefore I'll probably think it's a more 'dour' year than a 'classy' year - but early to be nailing any colours to the mast yet

Yep a race I think it would be wise to have an open mind about. Ground, tactics and jumping will all play a big part I reckon. That’s me Captain Obvious signing out

Completely disagree. They are a fair way ahead imo.

                          • I had backed SS so was pleased to see the finishing effort but was worried about some of his jumping. He has a tendency to screw over fences - positively you might put it that he has his own way of getting over them!

Think that was mainly because he was being held back. When he went for them he pinged them.

Yep, winner jumped a lot better than the 2nd
Think both will appreciate a BANC
