  • Bit of market confidence behind Ile Atlantique tonight and Majborough on the drift. Could just be market correcting itself as Maj was very short given what's he's done so far.

Think Patrick also gave him (Maj) the kiss of death earlier as well.

    • What the hell is Jango Baie's price so short for in the BANC already

      Is that a joke

Best of the British novices now TJM is out. Expecting him to win well tomorrow too.

Thought his debut over fences was extremely good though, backed up by Springwell Bay since, although Dodgepot Potter has also let it down, unsurprisingly.

I was looking at him for the Jack Richards

Only checked the BANC to see if he was a wild price

9/1 NRNB and 12/1 best price, laughable

Being the best of the British by default is not good

          I can't believe the price

I know he's a G1 winning hurdler but that is only because Farren Glory fell at Aintree, he was travelling all over him ... and Farren glory has no business in G1's ....

Sciliy Isles is more interesting for the handicap than Arkle or BANC for me. Wild.

Yeah, especially as he'll end up in the Arkle

Actually, I think he'll get beat tomorrow by another one that will go Arkle. 100/1 shot

There's a 16/1 wtaf currently on William hill in case that's preferable for anyone

Edit - for BANC to avoid any confusion with comments above

I can't see that, it's originally what I went looking for

Although I won't be backing it.... 16/1 win only is way too tight IMO

The 25/1 NRNB price for the Arkle is much more like what I'd have expected for the BANC

Not that I don't think he's decent by the way, purely a price thing

Even looking at Jango Baie Evens to win tomorrow and all at 12/1 NRNB

                    Farren Glory
                    Handstands
                    Kalif Du Berlais

All in the Jack Richards! 25/1

                    Probably not smart

                    and Springway Bay!

Aintree over 2 miles would be too sharp for him. Stepped up in trip back at Aintree he would have won by a mile without all the trouble in running and the yard were only just coming out of a torrid time as well. The sires best two horses were stones better over fences than hurdles. The progeny of the dams sire Kapgarde nearly always improve for a fence too (can’t wait for brighter days ahead). He achieved an RPR on his chase debut just one pound below Ballyburn achieved on his second chase run and imo jumped slicker than Ballyburn and comes away from his fences quicker and spends less time in the air than Ballyburn.

I think he’s an intriguing horse but a likely non runner unfortunately and anyhow will probably jump like a sack of proverbial tomorrow now I’ve said all that.

In between wtaf's for Meetingofthewaters and Kalif du Berlais

Oh yeah, my ctrl + F function doesn't seem to want to find it

Regardless, not something I'll be taking

Tempting myself with the above doubles though as tomorrow looks right up his street

I see DenmanSacre likes him as well for the potential step up and he's a decent judge so I won't crab the horse .... it was just genuine shock at the price, but it's not implausable, I over reacted a bit

and actually if I think about it logically there is a almost 0% chance he goes for the race unless he bolts up, so 9/1 NRNB is someething you'd be able to probably get out of

If beaten and he drifts for the Jack Richards though NRNB I'll be having a go

                          • Kalif Du Berlais is entered in the Champion Chase so connections must think he'd have a small chance against those tomorrow at Sandown....

Indeed it’s a nice little race.

I backed him for the Arkle after his debut over fences as I thought he was too good for handicap, and more likely to go back in distance rather then step up. His jumping was very good, some of the best jumping the I’ve seen from a novice this season.
His trainer though says he’s not quite quick enough for 2 miles, so it seems he’s either BANC or the new handicap.
I looked at the BANC prices and thought also he’s too short, but will be interesting to be see how he does tomorrow.
My gut feeling is he won’t be seen at Cheltenham, and will be aimed at mid distance races going forward.
