That would leave Ballyburn as third peg.
What then for Bally ?
Townend convince Willie to go arkle if ground slow ?
Be a slight possibility if Majborough smashes Atlantique.
If he loses again fairyhouse or aintree I imagine. Otherwise he'd be getting sent to the BANC as a third string.
A narrow defeat then the jockeys will have some interesting decisions
And punters will be praying they get paul, danny or JJ not the human anchor
That would leave Ballyburn as third peg.

I've just played the 'what if' card and backed Ballyburn further on the exchanges.
Would hope to be able to trade out of the bet if he loses at the weekend and the Arkle would look a more viable option.
I'm convinced they'd supplement him for the Stayers if he gets beat.
Does he have history in doing this ?
In my mind Mullins over enters everything so for him not to get an entry in the first place suggests they've completely dismissed it as an option.
Anyone have any stats on Mullins supplementing horses at festival ?

If he gets well beat again and has got no options over fences what else will he do with him ?

Well they won't run him in a race he can't win so likely he'll be left at home while they consider future options, I doubt the yard/owners feel compelled to run at Cheltenham...

Leave him at home if there isn't a race for him, can't just shoehorn them into races that don't suit, training is quite meticulous hence trainers often saying they're working backwards from race X with horse Y.

Horses are allowed to get beat, it happens.
The manner of the defeat would be the only issue going forward.
Im sure there are plenty of examples of horses being beaten by horse X and then next time they then beat horse X. Different distance for a start DRF chase to BANC, different course, different ground.
It happened at the top of the sport, granted not the next race, A Plus Tard beat by Minella Indo and then reversed the Gold Cup form a year later.
Maybe you could just humour some of us mere mortals that are unable to know a result before the event?
I don’t know…maybe pretend you don’t know? and maybe be a tad more helpful in the discussion?

Up in trip to the distance he was most impressive last season in the Ballymore. Second fav is a doubtful stayer having skipped Sandown because of the testing ground. Favoured by the stable jockey. Best horse in the race on ratings. Odds on fav.
