Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

  • Anyone know if Better Days Ahead and Dancing City have both been declared for Naas on Sunday?

      Only Dancing City.

      Got Bioluminescence & Good Land to face, so should win well, IMO.

      • Thanks. Any ideas on Gordon's plans for DRF? There's an each way bet against Ballyburn to be had on Better Days Ahead or Croke Park imo. The Mullins runners around them are set to be non runners by sounds of it...

          I was very impressed with Bioluminescence at Limerick

          Looks every inch a chaser

          I think she can put it up to Dancing City although i was expecting her to be receiving weight instead of conceding a pound

          Heavy ground would be preferable but it wasn’t heavy at Limerick

            Yeah I was expecting her to be in receipt of a few lbs too. Still think she’ll keep him honest all the same.

            • I keep seeing (not just on here, I might add) some say what if Impaire Et Passe is beat at the DRF (assuming he turns up), does he drop back down to 2m?

              Well what IF Ballyburn is beat at the DRF? Where do they go with him from there?

              All hypothetical of course. Interested in thoughts though.

              • ….Mullins;

                IEP;
                Impaire Et Passe is a possibility for the Leopardstown Ladbrokes Novice Chase. The trip would suit him well.

                Bally;
                He will take his chance in the Leopardstown Ladbrokes Novice Chase. Looking at the pedigree he has and the fact he is a big stamp of a horse, he has stayer written all over him. Hopefully his attitude will let him stay, he will have to settle and do a few things better to stay the trip but that’s all part of him maturing. We found out there and then at Kempton at Christmas he couldn't jump at that pace. Sir Gino could be a superstar and maybe if he wasn’t there, he might have been ok at two miles, but it seems to be the case that he wants a longer trip.

                • The Timeform Novices' Handicap Chase has certainly proved a good fit for Cheltenham's Festival Trials Day card as the race has repeatedly been used as a springboard to a bold showing in March.

                  Three of the last ten winners of the Timeform Novices' Handicap Chase who went on to run at that year's Festival won in March, while another four were placed. That level of success is even more impressive when you consider that the race perhaps considered the most natural Festival target - the novice handicap chase - was removed from the running order following the 2020 edition.

                      Going by that pattern of recent years, the winner is winning the plate or turners

                        Hoping for more of the same Eggs in the shape of either Billythebigrealred or Jagwar, as per my latest diary post

                          I'd have to check but I think there have been other horses that have won at the festival, having been beat in this race. Did Siruh Du Lac run in this?

                          It's always been a race to pay particular attention to.

                              This is how the newly launched ATR Guide To Cheltenham website reported the comment ref IA :

                              We’re going to let him run in the Irish Arkle and then we decide from there whether he goes to back to Fairyhouse or Aintree for the two-and-a-half mile races. He will be better at two miles on soft ground, but he doesn’t need it soft over further. He has a lovely action. We are happy to take on Majborough with him.

                                Imperial Aura was second and won the novices handicap. That form line with Simply The Betts was just perfect!
