Would need the 5yo curse to work I think plus a bit more. He's a player though .

      • Irish ratings:

        Ile Altantique 153
        Firefox 151

If the UK handicapper is consistent he'll add on a bit to them, still leaves them 8-10lbs shy of Sir Gino (164), and he's only had the one start!!

Not according to the RP, 166 was the RPR, OR of 164? Have they got it wrong?

Edit: Just looked on BHA, rated 164!

do you know if they make allowance for the weight for age ?
                Or is that really a 170 ?
                would seem high.
                0r 158 ?

Performance rating was 164, and now on official ratings it's showing as 164 too.

To be honest I don't use the performance ratings an awful lot and you're one of only a couple that bring them up on here so I suspect many don't use them or even know they exist. I always forget to check them on a weekly basis

                  I should look more often!

                    I don't know for sure.

If I had to guess I would imagine they've taken the 5lbs into account. Be strange if they hadn't, as they must do it with every other allowance given?

Yeah, for winners and placed horses it gives an earlier marker as they're nearly always the same.
I'm just being old school with his handicap rating as he's only had the one run, but obviously he can run in certain handicaps off that mark if he wants these days,

                        It was 6lb.
So had they both ran in a handicap the next day then Ballyburn would have ran off 155 and Gino 164 (less allowance of 6) 158.
That's how I see it anyhow.
                        Obviously hes now 5 anyway.

I hope he runs. I hope him and Ballyburn take each other on. Can't see it myself now, but never say never!

Yep, I've pretty much given up on him turning up now.
