How did you get to that figure though ??

I'd say Firefox is a true 2 miler......is Ballyburn? Willie doesn't seem to think so now .

    Great debate.

Still think Sir Gino wins but trying hard to find holes in his form. Getting a little bit of joy.

    But not much .

That said, most on here thought Inthepocket along with Majborough was SG's biggest threat. IA blew the ITP up in smoke.

Spot on GV! I actually think he’s currently the best value antipost bet in any market for the festival at 16s. I could go into many reasons explaining this but it’s Sunday night and I cba. I’d say most people in here will know I’m a genius by now and follow me in anyway

Probably three main reasons. Firstly it was impressive on the clock which is useful when you lack dependable yardsticks. Secondly they destroyed the two opponents and Rubaud - a decent hurdler - was beaten a long way out. Thirdly Ballyburn is obviously a very good horse who ran well even if he jumped cautiously and made an error when beaten.

Obviously all opinions but that would be my logic.

The sectionals will be interesting for the Naas race. To my eye looked very steadily run for at least the first half - while Kilberry Saint folded quickly he was still in touch until about two out. That makes me more cautious about it as good form too.

I'll come back and add that in his previous race Firefox finished a SH behind Heart Wood in the G1 Drinmore who then went on to run a superb race against the Dual Gold Cup winner Galopin which for me adds real substance to todays race albeit being over a different trip.

There’s no holes in Sir Gino, asides from inexperience over fences, but that hardly showed anyway.

I would not be using todays race to either enhance the winner and ITP re Arkle or indeed dismiss them.
I think I would give up on Firefox though.
Be totally different track, race, and ground conditions as well probably.
And re IA …..he will only run in the Arkle if it’s soft imo,as trainer knows he ain’t a true 2 miler.

I do love croke park, but I think he’ll go straight to the BANC

I'm not an RPR man but know many are on here.

Sir Gino easily beat Ballyburn (highest chase rating prior to defeat 150) by 7 1/2 lengths receiving 6lbs

Ile Atlantique easily beat Inthepocket (highest Chase rating prior to defeat 154) by 12 lengths off level weights

                      Ummmmmmm
No way was that ITP true running, nowhere near.
                      Ground done him imo

Had IA run in the Kempton race I’m pretty sure he would not have got near SG.
He might have got near to Jukebox though!!

The way he pings his fences and travels I actually believe IA will be better on better ground. He doesn't need it Soft imo.

He ran well other day, but 3m round Cheltenham?

He needs something to slow the natural speed horses, namely SG and Maj.
Hes not as quick as them.

He certainly isn't slow. Paul will use his stamina as an additional weapon and not let those two have it all their own way. They both have to come out again as well so we'll see how their form holds up.

What did you make of trainer saying his next race might be 2m5?Depending on ground conditions.
