Will be a good clash and the winner will be short priced fav for the BANC if impressive

Possibly but was today's race not a deeper contest than Sir Gino won ? Would IA not have done that to Ballyburn? I too think SG is the winner but stranger things have happened.

Given Ballyburn beat IA 16.5 lengths at the festival last year without really breaking a sweat, I'd say "No, there's no evidence that IA would have destroyed him like Sir Gino did"...

Been thinking a bit more about this.

I'm not an RPR man but know many are on here.

Sir Gino easily beat Ballyburn (highest chase rating prior to defeat 150) by 7 1/2 lengths receiving 6lbs

Ile Atlantique easily beat Inthepocket (highest Chase rating prior to defeat 154) by 12 lengths off level weights

              Ummmmmmm

Get you but we are talking the big obstacles. So very different.

I suspect it will be rated off Firefox who is fairly consistent and looked to run his race. Personally I'd expect something around 155.

OK......so from that I take it you think the rating given to Sir Gino for beating Ballyburn is probably too high ??

I think the other way of looking at is whether Sir Gino would beat Firefox by more than 5 lengths. I reckon he would likely double that winning margin minimum.

In deep ground running widest of all , all the way round?

He was running widest of all, because that was the better ground Lobos, so a help and not a hinderance. He was on the golden highway

The Sir Gino race was very tricky to rate given small field and only two real finishers. I was slightly surprised they issued the rating so quickly. Personally I might rate it lower but only by 2-3 points.

Yeah right. Ran 209 yards further than the rest though. Golden Highway.....love it.
