  • Patrick on Ballyburn...

"Ballyburn is on his travels to Kempton on Friday. In an effort to split our aces we may run head first into Sir Gino, who is also a split ace. Ballyburn never came out of third gear on his chasing debut, even very kindly lifting his head a fraction when faced with five foot of birch. His defeat of Supreme Novices' winner Slade Steel would strongly suggest he can cope with two-milers like Sir Gino but his pedigree is all stamina so the scary thing is he could even improve if and when he steps up in trip.
Two miles on fast ground around Kempton might not exactly be his optimum but it will be a proper experience at speed. I was neither overwhelmed nor underwhelmed by Sir Gino in the Fighting Fifth. He did what he had to. The top novice and one of the top juveniles taking each on over fences will be an absolute treat that should push you right back in the seat."

    • Croke Park confirms his BANC aspirations. A real stayer. Good news for some on here on at big prices.

Thought BDA was coming right back at him and believe he'll be suited by Cheltenham more, IMO.

Could see placings reversed up that hill.

Obviously biased as I've backed him but I agree. Croke Park gets another freebie up front and wins in a small field. Cheltenham won't be the same.

              • Croake park just keeps surprising Gordon, strange as everyone else see's him as a stayer,I wonder if he's pulling our plonkers tbh.
The Jukebox Man will be a very tough nut to crack in the RSA(BANC) though,Hyland would be interesting for the NH chase but he'd need to drop a few pounds to get in.
Sir Gino vs Ballyburn should be a cracker, time to get stuck into tomorrows cards, have a great evening everyone.

Yep, straight there. Looks a far better chaser and has speed and stamina plus he jumps so well. Looks to have a big chance in March.

Definitely goes there with an e/w chance

Down to willie now and to see what dancing city, impaire and ballyburn have

Looks like a penalty kick for impaire

Il be interested to see how ballyburn gets on, really think he's a stayer going forward and if I owned him I'd be thinking BANC then gold cup but willie clearly thinks different.

                      • Penalty kick ? Hit and miss whether he goes to the race I'd say

I was referring to limerick. I thought I put at limerick but didn't

Was my cliff horse last year for the Bartlett. I feel he’s been a little overlooked for BANC this season. Along with betterdaysahead, I feel that these are the strongest BANC chances. Jukebox is more flashy. Dancing city is more sexy, but I just fancy them to tough it out

He continues to be underestimated. How he's gone off bigger than a yak like stellar story today i don't know. (Yes I know he won the bartlett but that was a complete fluke on all known form)

Is stellar story going to be Gordon's NHC handicap horse now?

                              • Those old enough might remember what Sprinter Sacre did against Peddlers Cross in the Wayward a few years ago. Kempton should suit Sir Gino far better than Ballyburn and I can see a similar result, where SG just has too much speed and puts Ballyburns jumping under pressure from flag fall.

What price will Sir Gino be for the Arkle if he wins impressively today? 6/4?

Let's hope they both run their races and get round safely.
