Pretty sure that simply reflects that as it stands he's a better horse than Gino, and is a likely runner now.
Not saying he'll win but he's obviously better from hurdles form.
I'd expect him to be odds on for sure.

open grade 1 winner vs novice grade 1 winner.
I appreciate the horses weren't open grade 1 level, but neither were the novices ballyburn beat last season, imo.

me.
I like the Juveniles though, both SG and Maj look the real thing imo.
If it’s thought that currently Ballyburn is a better 2 miler than SG I don’t think that will last long!!

Suppose it depends what we want to look at.
Ballyburn rated 162, along with 157 and 166 RPR’s.
Sir Gino rated 157, along with a 156 RPR (for his open Grade 1 win).
Thats says Ballyburn is better. It will be a very interesting race indeed!
Edit - just for context the 157 RPR for Ballyburn was his DRF 2m win.

Think we can all agree they are both on a very upward trajectory at present.

Ok, what about this scenario. Con Hill bombs out in the Xmas hurdle, clearly not right. Surely there is a chance Sir Gino gets pulled from the Wayward Lad? There is clearly a correlation between connections regarding Con Hill and Sir Gino, so what is the point in Sir Gino potentially losing his novice chase status when he could be the yards big Champ Hurdle hope again? Fair enough if Con Hill runs well, Sir Gino wins the Wayward Lad but then Con Hill gets injured in the run up and misses the Champ Hurdle, that Sir Gino switched back to hurdles. But, a much below par Con Hill in the Xmas Hurdle clearly doesn't bode well towards a Champ Hurdle bid 3 months later...

like craigy said
on paper he’s better, it’s then up to the individual punter how good they think the juveniles are vs novices from last year.
Id say it’d be potentially close if they both jump well.
even if the novices were below par - ballyburn was well clear.
That open grade one was fucking wank.
Ballyburn would have done at least the same.

I don’t know who wears the stripes in Hendo/Donnelly relationship but I’d imagine conversations will be had…
