Hold your bets as he's likely a good NRNB option.
True Q but I’d like to have seen improvement from first day at school to today and it just wasn’t there.

No excuses just not quite good enough, he was race fit having had a run and Lecky Watson was having his first run of the season.

        Why this?

Willie has Dancing City & Impaire Et Passe, and now Lecky Watson has just thrown his hat in to the ring, if anything, Lecky winning means Ballyburn is one step closer to the Arkle, IMO

        • Those with 100/1 tickets on Lecky are happy! WD.

100% don’t know why a 3m hurdler winning on chase debut would send Ballyburn more to a 3m chase

And Blizzard of Oz was doing his best work at the end having been help up too. If he's campaigned correctly, he'd look interesting for the NHC.

Not sure Lecky will prove good enough. IEP could be in the awkward Mid Trip horse position and DC got a crap RPRFor me, Maj is the better Arkle prospect so let Ballyburn win a currently weak looking BANC.

….yep, it was nortonscoin200 who highlighted that and put him up in a e/w double with Galvin (GN)

If he turned up for the Turners he might be of interested, festival winning form is never to be sniffed at,but I'd want to see a bit more from him between now & then though, although who knows, maybe Lecky will go and win a couple of Grade 1's before march then this run would look much better.

Would have to break one of the most ridiculous stats ever !!

….BANC market settled, BV are now 20-1 (from 80-1) Lecky who is a best price 25-1. A few firms have pushed SS out to 40-1.

I wouldn't get too disappointed myself. We never know how race fit they are compared to each other, on the day.
Some are better fresh, some bounce, some come to hand easy, you can go on forever. It's a guess.

It was a reasonably deep beginners, and he jumped much better and a lot more like a three miler.
I remember Minella Indo's novice chase season when he got smashed by Laurina first time up then scraped home against Captain CJ in a beginners.
He then went straight to the festival and went off 3-1 2nd Fav.
Montys Star got beat first time up also and went into Cheltenham off a beginners win. went off 13-2 and was backed.

As most would agree, I do think Henry brings his on very slowly to peak in March and this fella has had the issue of a doubt over the trip also.
I think they'll be fairly sure he's not an arkle type now.
I reckon he'll get another run before Cheltenham , and is more likely to run in the RSA.
Think he'll go off single figures also.

I don't completely buy into the supreme form and novices in general being terrible.
It's not a vintage year by any means, but come Cheltenham these types usually come to the fore, and there'll be no fancy five year olds in the BANC either.

He could also be shit though

                          • I've not backed him though aside from the Ballyburn related double I did back in March/April.

                              • Not backed any of those that ran in that race today for any race at the festival.
Watching the race I never once wished I had.
Just thought it was a poor race really.

I can see the possibility of the 3rd home and the NHC though, but would not be going in at this stage.
