He added: “He has got speed and he really did quicken nicely at the end there and still went away. We thought that Jingo Blue might be the one to go for the Scilly Isles. Maybe this fellow might go a little bit further. There are still a couple of others to come in the three mile route, but we have got to spread them out a bit. I do think two and a half miles is perfect for him though, but we won’t be getting in that handicap chase at the Festival with him.

Im fine with my choice of Arkle for now,but makes sense not to be too dogmatic and keep an eye on things as the season progresses.
Jango would get the BANC trip imo, he’s just won on the new course, being fairly keen on his first start of the season (expected) and his debut over fences.
Another half mile of todays trip on the old course with a bit more experience wouldn’t be an issue for me. His breeding may not suggest it but to the eye looked good to me and as people have said jumped really well.
I think we forget how different the 2 course are at times, the long straight of the new course takes some getting compared to the sharper old course with a lot shorter straight, they come down hill for a good couple furlongs on the old course then a couple with the hill.
When I watched his final hurdle race at Aintree last season I was convinced he would make up into a good 3m chaser. Today's performance, IMO, further supports this view.
Ile Atlantique really shone at Navan on his first run over fences. If I can keep him in that sort of form for the season he’ll be a force to be reckoned with. Last year his form tailed off a little bit, maybe he’s best a little fresh, but his performance whets the appetite for the future.
Dancing City did everything nicely at Punchestown, I was very pleased with how he jumped and how he raced.
This is a very competitive race. Majborough, on his hurdles form, would look the pick of ours. He jumps well, as we saw last year, that was over hurdles but I think he’ll adapt to fences very easily. I’m hoping for a good round of jumping, he’s the one to beat.
Another thing to consider with Jango is the ground.
He’s performed well on good/soft and soft.
Could well be a late decision depending on ground as well as his other horses.
If his next entry is 2m4 or further I will cover for BANC then I think.
I hope and think he will want to try him over 2m though.
Constitution Hill would win the horse beauty contest if there was one, I can tell you that much, even against the mares! Think he looks better everytime he’s interviewed
Until we see him race there’s no point saying anything, folk need to stop asking as it’s very boring and probably just as boring for him.
He jumped great but was running keen all the way round. Was very surprised Nicholls ran him so soon and ran him over 2m4f after he showed so much enthusiasm.
He was never going to get up the hill running so freely.
Go back to 2 miles and let him rip.
Would an arkle winner have had the class to win anyway? Probably would be my opinion.
Have this feeling that Tullyhill could make into a decent chaser. Debut today.

I'm heavily invested in him (from before the Turners was scrapped) but wanted him to have an easier beginners chase so I could cash some of it out! I feel like he's this year's Facile Vega tbh - they clearly haven't figured him out yet. I think he could easily prove the best chaser of the Supreme lot, but with Ballyburn and Impaire in the picture (as well as Majborough and Sir Gino), it's hard to see him winning anything now

I think he’s either going to be very good(if he takes to fences), or bloody awful (if he don’t!!)

Ha, you are right there Taunton. He could take to them like a duck to water or not even be good enough for the handicap. He was an anomaly over hurdles. I singled 3 horses out for leaving hurdles form way behind at the start of the season, L'eau Du Sud, Croke Park and An Tobar.................. Tullhill didn't enter the thought process. I think i just don't trust him. Happy to be wrong though.
You have every chance of winning today with Tullyhill Carnage. I Can fully understand Maj starting out over 2 to gain jumping experience but he'll not have the pace to win over the minimum in that ground in what looks a hot beginners. I'd say there's next to no chance we'll see him line up in an Arkle in March. Personally don't think we'll see him at the Fez at all this season. He's one for later.
