Makes sense to go down this route, IMO.

I think he can win some raced whilst he gets the allowance, but may be found out come the festival, personally.
Just seen the quote from RTC on Twitter which is much more definitive in respect of two-miles being his route.

      Cheers.

Happy to take the boosted 22's with Lads.

I suspect he'll be winning his beginners, especially with the age allowance, and he'll shorten plenty, leading up to the festival.

      • So Willie has name checked the Arkle for Majborough & Impaire Et Passe, but not Ballyburn.

Ruby has said something along the lines of he thinks Ballyburn would be better up in trip.

        Makes you think, right.

It looks fairly simple to me
impaire and majborough might have a beginner chase each over Xmas then they’ll battle it out in the Irish arkle with ballyburn.
Then he’ll sort them out after that.

obviously just me guessing but I do think he’ll go easy on majborough but test him in Dublin.
          assuming jp plays ball.

but Dublin is normally Willie Cheltenham trials day and the other Irish tend to duck.

i covered majborough for champion hurdle in case he fucks his beginners up.

maybe the rumours of ballyburns jumping has meant Willie wants three runs prior to march with him.

this was willie on ballyburn- I don't think there's a suggestion he's thinking going up in trip

"If he’d got beat the other day I may have been thinking of Limerick but that’s more for two and a half milers, that’s for different horses going a different trip on more testing ground."

Willie’s comments about Ballyburn are downright odd. I really don’t think he was impressed with his beginners. I don’t recall him ever addressing an potential inability to jump before about his crack novice chaser. Saying that if BB fails in his novice chasing season can go back hurdling next year. Very strange and tallies with those rumours of his preseason schooling.

                  • Only talking about the 2m races there for Ballyburn. Think people are putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5. He'll be going the Arkle unless he gets beat convincingly over 2m.

Personally hope he stays on course for the Arkle, value around whilst he is imo

                        Yep, 22 taken
Do like to see them jump first, but small wager at those odds I’m happy with for now

                          I hadn't seen this

                          Which Kempton race?

That will put his jumping under serious scrutiny, Kempton being a quick enough track.

                            I saw this earlier too.

That would be something, right, straight over fences!

                              I don't mind this happening.

As you noted at the end, I think Ballyburn will have another run over 2m prior to the DRF. If he loses its less of an issue for Willie to sort out. He'll just up him in trip.

Almost doing the opposite of what he done with Gaelic Warrior last season.

Wayward Lad. Would be good to see him against some of the British but the Naas race will likely have much more depth you'd think. I can't see Leau du Sud going if he goes for the grade 1 at Sandown. Not sure there is much else in Britain to give Ballyburn a race? As you say though, it will put his jumping to the test.
