That’s smells like connections more than Hendo imo.

JP stacked with chasers, his hurdle mark looks very nice.

After his last run I’m not that surprised!!
Whether they have completely abandoned fences I don’t know, maybe the horse needs a confidence boost?
Be interested in quotes from connections.

Coral Cup would be a potential target too

            • ….Gidleigh Park pulled-up, looks like Iberico Lord cut to 25-1 Ark after that win.

              • Think we will learn a lot more next time about Iberico Lord in a better race
His jumping was a bit weird at times but did get better towards the end of the race, and the last few were good. Shame about GP, hope he’s ok.

                • Iberico Lord never asked a question, but his jumping was sketchy, particularly early on. He’ll need to improve significantly to better L’eau Du Sud in my opinion.

He jumped into the back of the horse in front a couple
of times, and someone will have to explain to me the reason why Nico ran him in behind as opposed to wider where he’d get a better view of his fences.

Gidleigh park made two big errors and was pulled up. Doesn’t look a 2-miler, physically or in race.

                  • I have Lberico onside for the Arkle but glad it’s a free bet after seeing him jump. Don’t know what he does at home but that did not look good albeit he jumped better at the end.

                    • Gidleigh Park - Atrial Fibrillation, according to Nick Luck.

Probably the shock of his life going so quick over fences on a flat track, to be honest!

                      • For those who do follow the RPR's, Ballyburn given 150 for his win at the weekend.

I think that puts him bang there. Some have hit high 140's, others 160, that have gone on to win the Arkle.

                        • PP pushing Impaire Et Passé out to 14/1 wonder if they know something, scupper a little cash out off people with the drift. Stable tour words looked very similar to the sporting life tour and then no entry at Thurles.

Unless he’s keeping him for the Fairyhouse 2m race I mentioned a few posts back.

I was initially concerned about his lack of entry. But I don't think any of Willie's previous best over 2m have started out in that race. Il Etait Temps turned out to be very good, but going into the season, not many fancied him over a fence.

I looked back at 2022/23 when Willie last had a horde of potentially top draw 2m novice chasers going into a season in Appreciate It, El Fabiolo, and Dysart Dynamo. They were out for their beginners on 19th, 21st and 27th December respectively, including the Fairyhouse race you've mentioned (which El Fab ran in). So it'll be a little while before I'm worried.

I think we give PP more credit than they deserve when it comes to being ITK. They seem to follow the money rather than being ahead of the curve. IEP has been easy to back on BFX recently and there were rumours abound. I imagine a few folk were cashing out which lessened their liability and thus meant they could push the price out. It was also notable that the price went out after Ballyburn looked decent enough on debut and contracted in price.

I think that could well be right about PP following the price. I’m in the same boat about being concerned, although the rumours are frustrating to be honest, I’d say post Fairyhouse if there’s no entry there then possibly a worry. Surely he won’t run all of those at Thurles, there’s 6 entered, do we think maybe max 3?

                              • Thought Iberico did it perfectly ok. Few novicey jumps but we expect that. Clearly he's a classy individual. Is he related in any way to Jonbon as he looks identical to him ?

The big issue I have now backing anything in the Arkle is that it seems Ballyburn is going that way. That for me knocks out any win bets on anything else . Might just top up on Ballyburn each week at short odds rather than waste any more bullets on the race. Yes of course something could happen but that applies to all horses.
