  • Didn’t hear all of Rubys comments, but he seemed to think going up would be better.

    • Lovely bit of schooling from Ballyburn there. Which race do you want to win with him Willy? Imagine having that problem. Mind his head carriage still keeps you on the edge doesn't it...

      • If they want him to win the gold cup next season surely they go 3 miles not 2 miles.

You'd think he'd have definitely gone 2m4f if it was still there.

He will be even better over 3 miles, just like galopin, will be able to use that cruising speed

He will be in 2nd gear when they are in 4th

Not sure going up to 3m would see him at his best this year but if they went up in trip, he'd win there as well.
Selfishly I hope he steps up as I have more bets in the Arkle that he could scupper!!
Gut feeling though is they will do as you think.
And to be honest I think the better novices should go Arkle .

          • It could also come down to what other options WPM has. Yes he’s the potential number 1 but he’ll want the best chance of winning both races. Makes sense in my head anyway

            • Only thing I would say is that Arkle may be a decent race, and BANC could be easier option, he just stays and stays. Willie never has liked the race, but with only two races to go now, maybe it will force his hand.

              • I reckon it'll come down to from the other weapons he has in the Arkle and BANC, which one he is least likely to win and he'll get sent there. So basically it depends on if you think IEP has a better chance of winning the Arkle over Dancing City winning the BANC, for me I see him going the BANC

No Leopardstown race anymore so where else will he go?

                      • Think it's safe to say Stellar Story needed that experience

                        • 2m it is then if he sticks to those thoughts.

has to be because the 2 mile race has been taken out of leopardstown.
which you'd have to assume means willie has the arkle in mind.

                            • ….looks like Stellar will be a best 16-1 (BANC) after that win.
