If they were trained in France they'd both be chasing and no-one would bat an eyelid.

If he was 5 going on 6 I'd think differently, but they can definitely afford to have a go at the Champion Hurdle if they want to and should have an answer soon enough I guess. The ground hasn't been right for him so far anyway. It strikes me as just a unique set of circumstances that it makes complete sense to see if your 180s Champion Hurdle does or doesn't exist? If he doesn't, why not have a pop at the Champion Hurdle?

It's very different story if this drags on to Xmas though...
Yes, being only 4 still, does have a bearing imo
Ballyburn eg is 2 years older

Yes they have age limited chase program. But you mentioned it was too soon to send them chasing, which is not the case.

          • We’ve seen Sir Gino he’s a big boy for a 4 year old and has clearly schooled well. He’s cantered all over Constitution Hill regardless of what anyone says in that gallop so he’s ready that’s for sure. Constitution Hill maybe takes a bit more to get fit but it was pretty telling in both their levels in that gallop, he’d have no bother novice chasing or top level hurdling imo.

I didn’t watch RTC but a mate said Ruby said something along the lines of ‘forget Constitution Hill in the gallop, why are we not talking about Sir Gino’.

Gotcha. I was thinking more then going into open company.

They only stay in their age group at 3 and 4 and straight into open company at 5. Plenty of winners of the French Champion Hurdle and Gold Cup at 5 so they can handle the step up.

Yeah exactly the same. Kaadam the champion 4yo chaser likely to race the older lot for the first time in March/April next year.

                        • Ballyburn in to 1/7 with most, 1/8 with B365. I’m tempted to lay as cover in case he doesn’t take to jumping.

64-1 on bet365 for Ballyburn not to win and IeP to win the Arkle is something I've had a very small play on

I’d be mindful of IEP. Willie has every Arkle contender entered at Thurles next Thursday, except for IEP. That coupled with the rumour Lobos posted about a setbak
does give me a small cause for concern.
