If he was 5 going on 6 I'd think differently, but they can definitely afford to have a go at the Champion Hurdle if they want to and should have an answer soon enough I guess. The ground hasn't been right for him so far anyway. It strikes me as just a unique set of circumstances that it makes complete sense to see if your 180s Champion Hurdle does or doesn't exist? If he doesn't, why not have a pop at the Champion Hurdle?
It's very different story if this drags on to Xmas though...
Ballyburn eg is 2 years older

We’ve seen Sir Gino he’s a big boy for a 4 year old and has clearly schooled well. He’s cantered all over Constitution Hill regardless of what anyone says in that gallop so he’s ready that’s for sure. Constitution Hill maybe takes a bit more to get fit but it was pretty telling in both their levels in that gallop, he’d have no bother novice chasing or top level hurdling imo.
I didn’t watch RTC but a mate said Ruby said something along the lines of ‘forget Constitution Hill in the gallop, why are we not talking about Sir Gino’.
