While I wouldn't want to second guess what mullins is thinking, it's surely chasing now. I can see the sense in the morgiana entry as a back up for state man or lossiemouth not being ready, but I don't know why he'd be entering him in a novice chase in 5 days time if they've decided to stay hurdling for the season and he's running in the morgiana. But I could be missing some gain they might make from mischief I suppose.

Worth listening to Nick Luck's podcast this morning. Josh interviewed Nicky very well I thought. My takeaway was that Sir Gino could step in from Con Hill in the Champion Hurdle, at any point. He made the point that if he runs in a couple of chases, that doesn't preventing him coming back to the Champion Hurdle - mentioned Buveur D'air.

Also, implied that Ballyburn was going chasing in his mind, which dispels the rumour that Ronnie Bartlett had given him the heads up that he stays over hurdles, thus paving the way for SG to go down the Arkle route.

It's a long way to go, but IF you believe the hype and he mops up the UK division, then he's going off 2nd fav at minimum for the Arkle (maybe even fav if the Irish lot beat each other in the run up), so the 22's would be a little bit of value.

I know he was run close enough by Kargese, but I think that was just race fitness, otherwise I think she could have ended up plenty further behind that she did. For me he was easily the best juvenile last season. Burdett Road & Kargese have both franked the form now too.

I know I loosely suggested it, based on last seasons words from Nicky about Ballyburn going to the Gallghers, but I didn't realise it had propelled in to a full blown rumour.

There’s an argument that says that with both Ballyburn and IEP being Ballymore winners and probably needing more than 2m ideally ?…..then Sir Gino may have more speed over 2m?……and with SIr Gino being younger maybe open for more improvement from last year?

No weight allowance come March but he gets some allowances during the season which gradually erode to zero come the Festival.
