  • Some race this could be if we get a few actually lining up:

This one's not half bad either

Not sure a walkover will help anyone

Superb. He'd be fav without Ballyburn if he comes out and jumps for fun.

          • ….lots of Oddschecker blue for Sir Gino (best 8-1) and ITP (best 10-1) for Arkle. That 20-1 Ladbrokes special for SG might be back in play.

            • This move by Hendo/Donnelly's makes me think Ballyburn isn't going down the Arkle route.

Henderson is good friends with Ronnie Bartlett and according to Hendo he told him that Ballyburn would be going down the Gallghers route, which they stuck to. I wonder if something has been said.

Also, you'd imagine the Donnelly's have a fair line into the Mullins yard as well, that they've now decided to go down the Arkle route with Sir Gino.

It's got me perplexed (not hard, I know), that they'd send a potential star over fences, chasing at the age of 5, not usually something Nicky does, unless they know something we don't.

I don't know, sorry Jim. I just know that they have schooled the novice chasers once.

Yes - I saw that video too. I think he is about to say MP goes chasing as well at the very end of the video before it cuts off.

I've written that bet on and off more than I care to remember!

Could it have something to do with JDR too? Nicky might've thought he was his 2m chaser before yesterday. There's a lot of 2m novice chases to sweep up in the UK.

I think he's got Turners plot all over him, to be honest. I remember when Defi jumped like a snooker table on debut over 2m. Went on to win the Turners, albeit that wasn't a handicap then.

I don't trust the JP horses one bit

From a Henderson perspective I think the JDR jumping issue is a factor plus the fitness of Constitution Hill would be a factor too. From the owners perspective they have State Man as the champion hurdler for the Champion Hurdle, they have Dancing City as a strong contender for the BANC and throw in, I am guessing, Sir Gino was only ever going to have one season over hurdles and Henderson would be telling them Sir Gino doesn't have a hope of beating a fit Constitutional Hill. It all makes perfectly good sense and stems from the fact Constitution Hill is fit and well. Why didn't I see it when Sir Gino was 20/1 for the Arkle and Constitution Hill was 7/2 for the Champion Hurdle.

                            • The Donnelly's also have Salvator Mundi, If he lives up to expectations he could be an Arkle horse for next season..

It’s not something he usually does, and he did say early doors that SG would stay hurdling this season, but things change and this is another classic case of being wary what connections say early in the season.
Im not on SG for the Arkle at prices that were available but I’m not beating myself up about it, but am envious of people that are on.
I actually put him in a couple of e/w Yankees for the CH.

Anyway if he proves Arkle is the race for him it’s exciting for the race for sure.
