For info, Henderson comments on RTV paraphrased:
Wasn't himself when saddling him up, like saddiling a lion but then fine when Nico got on.
Altior used to do what he did at the open ditch (second), possibly there's a bigger bar/gap than at home.
Thought he was warming up slowly, then he slipped a few metres before the last railway fence so had no chance. Pulled up after that to save confidence, appears to be absolutely fine physically.
Fully expected him to dot up here and then be talking about Henry VIII next. He's still a serious racehorse and he's done everything right at home.
For what it's worth, Henderson seemed genuinely perplexed by it all. He didn't seem flustered/like he was making excuses or that he was unnaturally bigging up his horse. I'll be cashing out my Arkle bets when I can, but I think he'll win his beginners chase before then and it could easily happen in a canter. Definitely one for the Novices Handicap Chase now imo
