    • ….bit of a mixed reaction for IEP, BV push him out to 25-1 BANC whilst PP cut to 16s. Best price 16-1 Ark.

      • Not a chance he ends up an Arkle horse, IMO.

Aintree or BANC I would imagine.

        • They crawled around and he won with a turn of foot. Jumped better than Ballyburn also imo.

The only doubt I have with IEP is that he doesn't seem to be able to lead.

Yeah - much more likely for the longer novices race at Dublin unless willies arkle contenders have diminished for whatever reasons, so depending how he fares in that race against likely Banc types will decide if they go to cheltenham or not.
I suspect a good performance in that race and he almost certainly will.

He's also got the scilly Isles he can go to, fairyhouse.
plenty of other options for him without needing to go Cheltenham, im not sure hes an ante post proposition at all.

              • Most of the runners in that beginners will be seen over much longer trips so his apparent speed/turn of foot has to be taken in that context.

                • Paul making a point of saying he was slick early on

Definitely not impossible he gets tried over shorter to find out if he's an Arkle type

Also said he switched off mid race

Unsurprisingly, after winning at odds on over the midd trip, it's inclusive

He pushed back on Gary when he asked if this trip was correct (which IMO it is) ... so don't think he's skipping the festival for Aintree just yet

                  • 114% finishing speed

Turned into a sprint, and that's where he looked best.

Also interesting on RTv that the faster they went the faster he jumped
Good at the end of the race - handy for an Arkle

                      • Cannot have any of the chat that he will skip the festival

I'd be absolutely gob smacked, it just wont happen.

Well I think it was abit obvious he weren't going to run in the Champ Hdle isnt it after failing to hit the heights needed prior to the festival?

This year he's a novice chaser - completely different ball game.

I think there's every chance he'll fail to hit the heights again if dropped to the minimum but that's just my opinion.
I think a lot will depend on the conditions of the old turners.
