Iv just been reading back through the stable tour to see if there was anything I had missed or forgotten about and how he talks about It's For Me was what stood out to me that I must have missed before.

Was pleasantly suprised when I checked the prices so Ive backed both then came on here and read your comment. Nice to see someone else thinking along the same lines. Holds an entry this coming Thursday, so at least we could find out fairly quickly if we are on a dud or not.

Yep also took the 50s for the Arkle. The form with Caldwell Potter looks decent stuff, he's a nice big sort that you'd think will cope well fencing, showed a nice turn of foot putting the race to bed against Potter. Also done the related double Its for Me Arkle Caldwell Potter Browning pays 1070/1

      • Cheers lads, like the comments, so followed you in with Its for me.
50’s has to be taken imo

        • The race at Kempton today might throw up a contender or two
Have had a bit on Iberico for the Arkle. Prices reasonable I think for a useful handicap hurdler.
Gidleigh interesting as well, probably for longer trips?
See how they jump a fence.

Do we know why he missed most of last season? I assume it was an injury but can't remember anything. Always wary of backing horses antepost that missed the last festival through injury...Connie...

              ….not specifically. Mullins mentions a ‘stack’;

“I thought he was one of my best novices last season. He beat Caldwell Potter in a maiden hurdle and then met with a setback. The sort of stuff he was showing me on the gallops means he could make it right to the very top over fences. He goes novice chasing and we're really looking forward to that. He's exciting.“

Be interesting where they start him off given his P2P win.

I've done the same and backed both, that is some race on Thursday if all stood there ground, I know that's unlikely to happy but still could be a good race.

                • So much depends on the terms of the Thursday novice handicap chase (whatever that gets called now) and what the pot is, it's possible that if Mullins sees the 20f option on the new course a better prep for his 2026 Gold Cup contenders (think Ballyburn) that the BANC or Arkle then we might be wrongly dismissing this as an option.
I'd love to get Its For Me onside but all four options are potentially still live for him...

Yeah 12/1 seems fair but the age old problem of wanting to include in multis rears its' head again, that year Hills did it was a very good year, but fully understand why they binned it...

                          • Do you not think 12/1 is too short for a horse that is 50/1 and 66/1 in individual markets?

Ive backed him for the Arkle and BANC and you'd like to think we will have some more evidence before PP introduce their cashouts... Whilst I agree his previous running style would suggest the Arkle is more likely, Im wary of connections having IEP and he could easily have matured and learnt to settle better.

I cant see WPM aiming to get him well handicapped so happy enough to ignore his runners in that race for now and think its easy enough to cover for these two options for the time being.

He's entered at Thurles over 2m2f this Thursday.

                            • My biggest worry is why are PP absolute stand out biggest on him in both markets

Absolutely the wrong price based on everything we know!

                              • It's for me running style screams 2 miles for the time being, unless they somehow manage to settle him better for jumping fences. Jody gave up pulling his head off at Punchestown couple of seasons back in the bumper and he was equally as keen in his maiden hurdle. He strikes me as the sort that could just bowl along from the front. He's got the size and scope, if he really takes to fencing he'd be an interesting angle into the Arkle. He gives me Dysart Dynamo vibes, but maybe with Dom Alco in the breeding he'd have the stamina to fully see a strongly run 2 miles out..unlike DD lol.

Will be an interesting watch if he does take his chance this week.
