He is a bit wobbly, you’re right.

        Maybe due to RTC tweet?

There's no smoke without fire, I would say...

Though I would add - the post about the Champion Hurdle comments would surely have led to him shortening for that race, no? I'd say it's more the vibes regarding his schooling that is causing a shift.

Sounds like his schooling may have been wobbly given the above post!

              • Price is unchanged in the browns and CH market now so I can’t see it being target related or schooling related… feels more like a delayed reaction to the Sir Gino news given how short he now is

                • I’ve had a go at champion hurdle for him. Probably wrong, but you know!!

Wouldn't say no if he went that route. Got him in roll ups for all 3 races but CH is by far the biggest price. Perhaps he's jumped like a pig and Willie will get his wish to send him down the hurdles route and try to emulate the great Dawn Run.

If he’s jumped like a pig then he’ll be staying down the hurdles route for the rest of his career. Surely now or never for chasing. He’s won his ptp how bad can his jumping be?
I still think they’re waiting on the con hill run before committing though

                      • If Mullins wants to run Ballyburn in the champion hurdle then he creates a real headache for himself re State Man and Lossiemouth.
I think if he were to stay over hurdles then it’ll be for good, not a delay to his chasing career, and end to it.
Also an argument he’d go Stayers instead of champion hurdle and look to win multiple staying championships…

Unless we get a quality field for the FF and decent competition against CH then I don't see the outcome of the race having any bearing whatsoever on Willies Champion Hurdle plans.

                          • How will Arkle types be campaigned in Ireland prior to the DRF now that the Xmas 2M G1 chase has gone completely?

Maybe the exception (Master Minded) proves the rule that even French Breds at 5 don’t (usually) have the maturity for the Arkle without the age concession.

My thoughts are that Willie’s won’t be out in time anyway. They’ll be out for a beginners in mid - late December and then straight to the DRF. Whilst the others will go to the UK for either the Noel Chase or Wayward Lad, or head to Limerick over 2m3f. They could also be kept back for the Killiney Chase in mid January at the Moscow Flyer meeting over 2m3f.

Edit - Ignore all that as the new calendar appears to have basically introduced a new race at Lawlors or Naas weekend - a Grade 2 2-mile novice chase.
