  • Feels a bit like they might not all want to win that race tomorrow if they're targeting festival races. A bit different to when they had non handicap to go for over the trip.

Think there were a fair few on here that were on the related form line double that year

        That's the one!

Un Temps Pour Tout is another that ran in it and then won at the festival that year. That's going back a bit mind.

Well what IF Ballyburn is beat at the DRF? Where do they go with him from there?

All hypothetical of course. Interested in thoughts though.
                Stayers perhaps?

Thought it had been implied Impaire goes Scilly isles (and quotes suggest that to some extent as well), but fwiw my permutations would be:

                  Impaire Vs ballyburn:
                  - Impaire wins, he goes RSA. Ballyburn then goes novices handicap or stayers.
                  - Ballyburn wins, he goes RSA. Impaire waits for fairyhouse/aintree.

                  Separate races:
                  - Impaire only goes RSA if ballyburn and champ kiely underperform at drf.

We’re going to let him run in the Irish Arkle and then we decide from there whether he goes to back to Fairyhouse or Aintree for the two-and-a-half mile races. He will be better at two miles on soft ground, but he doesn’t need it soft over further. He has a lovely action. We are happy to take on Majborough with him.
The video is on Youtube - he doesn't say Irish Arkle

I would disagree with this. If IEP & Ballyburn are kept apart before the festival I'd imagine it's because they will meet at the festival, rather than if anything underperforms.

Could see a scenario where either Ballyburn or Champ Kiely are held back should one beat the other at the DRF but not with IEP should he go elsewhere and win also.

Would need to be supplemented, wasn't entered was he?

My feeling is that keeping them apart means sticking to the initial plan (i.e., IEP is a pure 2.5 miler). I would be in the same court as you that IEP should probably go for the RSA, but I'm not convinced separating them now means they'll meet at the festival.

                          Time will tell I guess

                          • I think to line up at cheltenham any backers may need the help of the new jockey if he rides in the scilly isles.
If he's less of a cuck and is vocal enough I reckon he could persuade the vaudeville duo to ask willie to run in whichever race suited groundwise.
He'd be a bellend not to cos he's less likely to be riding on those other tracks.

Thanks for that feedback. That is piss poor reporting by ATR then. Very misleading.

Perhaps they knew he was talking about the irish arkle so added irish into the text so as not to mislead ? Like an idiots guide

The stable tour was for the Dublin racing festival and he was talking about the Irish arkle held there.
Anyone thinking otherwise needs to shake a leg.
