It's never really mentioned, but archetypal chaser's don't win the Triumph hurdle very often so I'd mark up Majborough's victory a fair bit on that basis alone. It's futile comparing him to Fakir on any sort of level, be it numbers or which horses they beat and by how far.
Since the abolishment of the allowance they haven't done so.
5 have tried in the past 5 seasons.
The thing here is, how many of the top level 5yo were actually chasers in the making rather than hurdlers. Often the Triumph winner is a hurdler and therefore it's unlikely they'll be going chasing the following year. Most of the 5yo that have gone chasing have invariably been below top shelf material so it's not surprising they haven't managed to win an Arkle.

At the end of last season I said a few times that I think Majborough, Sir Gino and Kalif Du Berlais could be a golden generation of chasers in the future. They may all get to the top at different speeds, but I'd like to think they'll be competing at G1 level over fences at some point.
Feel free to have a look, I've got a couple of kids to look after now
Not gonna look but would hazard a guess that most of them at some point
Allmankind for certain - as you were a fanboy.
Haut en Coleurs ? more than likely
Saint Sam ? probably
Riviere Detel - early season definitely
Fakir - most definitely
