Id argue SM would have been equally as impressive today though. The horses in behind are handicappers at best, Kaid D's form took all of the knocks recently and he ran accordingly.

2025 Novice Hurdlers

Willie now probably has 3 top drawer novice hurdlers that need to be split into 2 races. Top class horses though do enter and win the AB, including 2 subsequent GC winners, Bobs Worth and Minella Indo.
Mullins has had 3 winners of the AB thus far.
It is as if everyone has forgotten Mundi exists this weekend. Where does he sit in the pecking order now?
As someone said above, Paul will want to sit on the best come race day and there is 5 weeks to go for all to be still in tip top state.Last edited by Irish Rugby; 2 February 2025, 08:08 PM.

Does it mean even though Kopek was cruising, he was going faster than PT wanted and PT couldn't slow him any more?
Secondary question... If a horse is hacking, rather than pulling, does that use less energy?

They've now got much better form
Salvator Mundi wouldn't be anyone's top 2, unless they've already backed him. He's not 'forgotten', he's surpassed
They are the facts and will be hard for some to admit

I'm surprised I was able to cash Kaid today for stakes back. I was very doubtful about him as I had said once before, but I was reluctant to cash a 50/1 ticket pre race so feel quite fortunate I was still able to get out afterwards.

You could see in real time where the reins were in Paul's hands, the horse didn't seem relaxed and normally, that kind of horse would blow up at some point and lose the race. However, KDB doesn't look like a normal horse from the evidence shown today.
Ah well, up in smoke go all my lifechangers - didn't expect that to happen because one of the horses won too well

It's not as a reaction to today because I'm content enough with what I have plus covering him with the likes of Final Demand but I really am giving serious thought to just saving my betting bank for NRNB markets next year and going with bigger stakes at that point. I doubt FOMO will let me though

I suppose for everyone's bets to click in to place, Salvator Mundi would need to probably come out again, just so slickly and thrash a field, and be working the absolute house down
and the rest all stay fit

They can have a "pacemaker" for kopek in the turners.
Final demand doesn't have the turn of foot needed for the turners.
Theres something to stretch it out. should keep everyone occupied for the next few hours
