My immediate thoughts watching the race replay just now were did we just see the BANC 2026 winner

Looks a big staying chaser in the making.

Race kind of fell apart turning in but he just looks an all out galloper

Bit of monkfish about him in size and ability

Yeah. He'll be short for the BANC. Just need to keep him sound as these big horses don't seem to be able to stay sound into their open season.

Don't think there is much between them, though Final Demand probably open to further improvement considering his lack of experience and ease of win. Best chance of winning is surely the AB, though if Kopek does flop it raises a big question as to which race he will run.
Ground was atrocious lawlors day but The Yellow Clay really was asked for anything, 4 or 5 whips. Looked Hands and heels today for Final Demand.

Agreed. Chat about him being a chaser in the making from the start. Willie sees him as just that.

Looks so straightforward aswell, could go right to the top.

          • …Final Demand;

Mullins, who won all eight Grade Ones at last year's Dublin Racing Festival, said: "It's a bit like going to Cheltenham, this is our championship weekend and we've obviously a lot of the horses that are fancied, so just to get a winner is great but to get one like that, to me that was an awesome performance.

"I liked what he did from the last home. I thought he was a good horse and he was doing everything nice but he's such a big unit I don't like asking him too many questions at home, you're trying to keep those type of horses sound and in one piece. One of the press asked me when I thought he was a good horse and I only realised how good he was from the last hurdle home because he's never done that sort of work at home and we've never asked him that sort of question.

"You could be good and win that race by a length or two but to do what he did.....he was going quicker at the finish than he was at any stage during the race.

"We just keep things very simple with him and we don't ever let him do too much."

When asked whether he could go up or back in trip, Mullins replied: "He could do either."

Paddy Power cut Final Demand to 7/4 (from 5s) for the Turners Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March, non-runner no bet, while Betfair Sportsbook make him 9/4 from 6/1 for the same contest and 7/2 from 8/1 for the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle.

            • Again, if Kopek puts in a similar performance then it all becomes clearer.

I don't have many live multiples this year but the ones I have that could be interesting are as follows:

                      Group #1
                      Supreme: Kaid / Mundi
                      Turners: KDB
                      AB: Final Demand

                      Group #2
                      Supreme: Kaid / Mundi
                      Turners: KDB
                      Triumph: Hello Neighbour
Both groups passed todays test. All over to KDB tomorrow.

Being objective though, Final Demand is not certain to go to the AB even if KDB is impressive. And whilst I think Hello Neighbour was value for more today and would appreciate a fast pace, Lulamba and EID are going to be tough to beat.

                          • Final Demand was roared home by favourite backers in the opening race of the Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown - the Grade 1 Nathaniel Lacy & Partners Solicitors Novice Hurdle over and extended 2m6f.

Mullins says a bit more here and sounds more like turners from this, but it will depend on all his other horses nearer the time as usual

Be interesting to see how he jumps with the senior jockey on him tomorrow
Anything like last time with the son then he’s a worry for Cheltenham

Yeah. Whilst I think Townend will likely choose KDB, they may go with the Turners for FD to ‘look after him’ for next year. I love FD but can’t have him for the Turners as he goes against my main theory.
