I have him for both supreme and Turner's novice at decent AP odds but just listening to Upping the ante this week and Jonny Dineen seems he will go the supreme?
i just presumed PT would ride SM in supreme and KdB in Turners?
My personal feel is that he sees Kopek as good as Mundi with both horses good enough/capable of winning either Supreme or Turners so they were always going to be split, and with Mundi absent this weekend he can't change Mullins mind, I expect Kopek to go Turners....

If Kopek is beaten he is surely 100% Turners, but may drift ... depends on the nature of defeat of course
If Kopek wins, you're hoping for the Paul Townend factor kicking in, which is likely as if JP had The New One and 1 other (Mark Walsh) then Paul would be on a JP Mullins 3rd string and that's incredibly unlikely?
I expect if Salvator Mundi makes it, Kopek rides in the Turners, regardless of this weekends result

If he wins, he goes supreme as jp and Walsh first string.
If he loses to kopek, why step up in trip to a race where jp already looks stacked, to likely face kopek who hes already been beaten by. Having a crack at salvator and romeo instead would look the likely route in that scenario.

I agree that unless there is a dramatic ability difference shown and both run well enough as the market suggests, then it is much more likely that Kaid goes supreme and Kopek turners for the reasons already mentioned.
If Kaid runs well enough to be considered JP number 1 (walsh on board) for the supreme.
The bigger question then becomes what happens to Kawaboomga & Kel Histoire ?
Do they even run ?
Assuming they both do, this is where Willie has hinted at both going up in trip to the turners. Is this a sign of confidence in Salvator or the opposite ?
And whatever Willie thinks, it's likely that Walsh will want the ride on what he perceives is the best of them - in the Turners.
And then they let someone else ride the other in the supreme or turners. If at all.
If Kaid stinks the place out Sunday then Walsh will want a ride in the supreme. In which case that could be either Kel or Kawaboomga ? - based on form with Mundi this could sway it towards Kawaboomga supreme, and with Kopek already beating Kawa previously also.
I don't think the JP team will necessarily follow Willie's thought process on trip for their horses.
Basically anything could happen reallyLast edited by Quevega; 30 January 2025, 02:51 PM.

Imagine how exciting it would be if Ruby just came out of retirement to ride Mundi
That's how I read it at first, I thought you'd lost your marbles
Mark will not get a say though will he really, he's not going to take the 'best' Irish JP horse and end up taking on The New Lion, is he?Last edited by Kevloaf; 30 January 2025, 03:18 PM.

Has anyone heard anything on the whereabouts or wellbeing of Flying Fortune?
Last seen smoking Intense Approach in the Persian War who is Fav for the Scottish Potato Race at Musselburgh on Sat. If he wins that it gives her a tremendous form boost again.
She has an interesting profile for the mares novice being a 2nd season hurdler, battle hardened and plenty of experience with 9 hurdle starts coming up against the likes of Maughreen and Sixandahalf - classier horses no dobut but there is plenty of precedent for the classier girls to not bring their best to this race.
Her Top Speed rating is miles above anything else (as much due to no of runs no doubt) and on RPRs she's 4th best - she's well worth a nibble at 33s NRNB will Hills and if they confirmed her well being and target theres so 50s out there without NRNB.
