That sounds bad as she was named after their mum/gran
If she comes out and wins then the 5/1 becomes 2/1 or less and the 5/1 will then have looked value.

Fenton was, though, keen to clear up where Maughreen’s name came from. “There’s a lot of people think Maughreen is named after Maureen Mullins but that’s not the case, I said to her I wouldn’t like that pressure on her,” said Fenton.
“She’s named after a next-door neighbour of mine called Maureen O’Brien from Castlelyons.
“It was an emotional day for me yesterday, as she was like my mother growing up and she died a couple of years ago.
“I always told her someday I would have a horse named after her and her favourite horse was Faugheen and it just happened the way it worked out

Haha brilliant, and she's no relation to Faugheen is she ....
So essentially, it's trainer talking up a syndicate horse .... and not running it yet so the bubble doesn't burst Social runner at best

ComplyOrDie how can you not like The New Lion
Apart from the price now, obviously....
In terms of actual performances I actually think he's looked more special than anything else I can think of?
Not that I've got my bets displayed this year but I'd swap my The Yellow Clay position with him in a heartbeat

Not convinced by level of form either. Beat a 127 horse, a horse who needs 3m and a horse who needs 2m and was way too keen and was never going to get home, yet only finished 7 odd lengths behind. Appreciate a button was barely pushed but I'd like to see what's under the bonnet. Could have been very little for all we know.
Horrible price.
I have The Yellow Clay for the Bartlett so I'm hoping he doesn't turn up against The New Lion
My hopes are pinned on Kopek Des Bordes being a real good one and Potters Charm, albeit I think he's only playing for a place unless something happens to KDB!
Expect Jasmin to improve and shorten IF he turns up to the auction race they mention he may run in. Could still nick a place. Raw ability is there, his jumping is not.....currently!

I wouldn't fancy Potters Charm as single figures either when the Irish duo you mentioned (albeit you've got the wrong race for one ) I would back before the others if starting now

Edit - if she’s not value now, she doesn’t become value for winning a tinpot maiden was more my point, 5/1 is a shocking price, it certainly wouldn’t have me delighted if i backed her thinking she went sub 2/1 as it would need to be a decent stake to get a nice return.

Won't come to a huge surprise to any of us, but That's Nice unlikely to go to the festival. 2 and half her trip, as was said earlier in the season.
That’s Nice got back to winning ways at Warwick but Nicky Henderson has all but ruled out a trip to the Cheltenham Festival for the Ryanair Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle.
Bred by Noreen McManus and running in the green and gold colours of her husband JP, she looked a very exciting prospect when beating Dan Skelton’s Honky Tonk Highway on her hurdling debut.
Given that runner-up has subsequently won a Listed event at Sandown easily and was only just touched off at the Winter Million meeting at Windsor on Friday, it was puzzling when That’s Nice finished last of four at Cheltenham on her next outing.
Henderson is keen to put that down to the drop back to two miles, however, and back up in trip for the first division of the Watch RacingTV Free For 31 Days Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle, she overcame an early jumping error and was value for much more than the one-and-a-quarter-length winning margin over Miss Cynthia.
“I don’t know what happened to her at Cheltenham, she got all jazzed up before it at the start,” said Henderson of the 8-11 favourite.
“I suppose that was two miles but she wants this trip, as she stays and she does go in this ground.”
Betfair and Paddy Power cut her to 16-1 from 33s for the Cheltenham race registered as the Dawn Run but Henderson advised punters to hold off backing her.
He said: “I wouldn’t have thought the Cheltenham race would suit her, but I’ll have to talk to JP, that’s two miles and I would have thought she definitely wants two and a half.
“She’s a long-term plan, she’s a chaser – as long as she doesn’t jump like she did when she broke that hurdle! She actually jumped fine after that.”

As a 4yo he'd get 10lbs from the rest of them, he doesn't seem to have anything for the race currently and if this one turns out to be nice, would he want to run his two best 4yos against each other in the Triumph ?
Just was thinking about it earlier as see some books had him priced up for the SNH is all and for me, the race still looks open, the DRF might change that but for now..
L Bamford/connections sponsor the triumph so this kind of softens this angle a little.
Then again the Donnellys would have Mundi and Lulamba, so also seems unlikely the other way around.
So probably more likely both triumph if at all.
I think with this in mind I'd be careful with any bets.

He ran
Peace aand Co
Top Notch
Hargam
All against each other in the Triumph in 2015 and took out the first 3 spots, I'd say he was happy enough with that outcome.

But I agree, it's much more likely they both go triumph if at all,
But then again, he surprised me this season with Gino going chasing after winning the grade 1.
Lucky and open minded enough to get the double at the right price so might pay off.
