Shed have to jump and run better but every chance she will do that with a run under her belt. MNH definitely up for grabs.

    • Did they scrap the graded penalties in the mares novice for this year?

        • Sixandahalf sets the standard here so far by a country mile. It's funny that she's not the shortest in the market

Still think many just assume Willie must have a belter one. Cracking value there for Gavin's horse.

By many I think we’re saying just the bookies? WPM’s have been poor so far and getting a bit close for some that haven’t even run yet so will have max 1 run prior to the festival. He’s also not won it for 4 years now I think. Karoline Banbou might be his best option for the race if she impresses on Tuesday. Can’t believe Maughreen is still the price she is, literally bookies scared to push her.

                    Have we?

                    Who?

Also, when I say "sets the standard" that is me acknowledging something could come out .... but I think 6/1 is a very fair price

Maughreen obviously and I also believe Diva Luna will improve massively on what we've seen so far . You can bank on Willie having at least another two to come that we haven't seen yet and maybe Karoline Banbou will prove her last run to be all wrong. 6.5 was really impressive on debut but the price is gone now on her and I couldn't be taking 6's about her knowing Mullins may still have several to unleash and with DL being twice her odds.

Maughreen is probably the worst priced ante post fav we've seen since Willy De Houelle though .... her achievements on track would have her nearler 100/1 ..... the name is literally the main reason she's favourite .... I'm all for it though, holds the market up.

Aurora Vega was similar and she was 100/1 at one point too...

For every Lulamba, there are 10 others that get over hyped

You've been on here long enough, you can't honestly say you'd rather take Maughreen at 5/1 than Sixandahalf at 6/1 can you?

                        • I dont understand the comments at this stage of the season that willie will bound to have 2 better. when was the last time he had a well fancied mare that hadn't run by now for mares novice hurdle? I honestly don't know but can't think of any in last 3/4 years

Well he last won it in 2020 with Concertista, who had placed in 2019 at 66/1 .... so not her

2019 he won with 50/1 shot Eglantine Du Seuil

2018 was Laurina and she won in the Dec and Jan (2 runs)

2017 was Let's Dance, who was a second season novice as well

2016 - Limini - won 30th Jan that year (ran in hte May the year before) before winning the inaugural running

I wouldn't have a boner for Maughreen myself at that price based on the trainers record so far in the race, so I agree

                            • Sounds like both Willie and Patrick are having constant boners the way they talk about her.

That sounds bad as she was named after their mum/gran

If she comes out and wins then the 5/1 becomes 2/1 or less and the 5/1 will then have looked value.

Yeah, as I said, for every Lulamba .... we have the other 10 horses that have been ante post favs then flopped or not impressed ....

Also, they always talk up a few random ones that have personal connections.... what was that one that his Mum owned and they just banged on about it for ages and it was really average .... omg that's gonna annoy me loads
