I've got a sneaky feeling they held him up today because they feel Kaid has to make the running due to his scope and stride.
I'd be surprised if he isn't out in front in Dublin.
If he's successful at Dublin it will be interesting what they decide to do with them on the big day.
Yeah he'll be out in front and they'll try to settle Kopek in behind. No idea who wins between those two - dutched them both at just over evens as nothing else in there beats them (assuming Elliott ducks the DRF like he tends to). Kaids been the surprise novice this year - looks like he's got lots of scope to improve over the next couple of season.
If he wins or goes close at Leopardstown from the front, they'll try it again at Cheltenham, whether Willie wants that or not.
Well beaten in triumph on debut for connections
Hacked up in an awful race
Wins a weak graded race with about five excuses given as to why he'll improve a bundle, all of which have to be corrected for his next run with him likely going straight to the supreme
If we're being honest, he is the price he is right now because its looking like a bad supreme at this moment in time, and because he's a hype horse. Long term he may end up a star, but he's there to be beaten next time out if anything can find improvement or if there's an impressive maiden hurdle winner in the coming weeks, as he still looks to have a lot to learn.
Is it bad?
Salvator
Romeo Coolio
Kaid/Kopek (likely Kaid)
Take all 4 of those above last year's front 3. Take them above the previous years race as well.

Well it's natural to think that at this moment, because they haven't ran enough times to be exposed if not good enough. Don't get me wrong, they all look nice sorts with potential to be good, as a lot of maiden winners do at this point, but I'd ask what any of those horses have done on the track for you to think that?
If we put the hype to one side, salvators best run is a 3l beating of three average looking horses in a bunch, I would say mystical power run in the same race last year was more impressive, where he too beat average looking sorts. Romeo was good at xmas where he looked to have improved, but before that was beaten by a handicapper. Kaid and kopek both won maidens by short enough distances, the form of both is anyone's guess at this point, but laafy recorded a higher rpr down at limerick than both of them. Any of them could find a chunk of improvement as I said in my original post, but as of right now none of them have done anything to stand out to me as a potential star.
He won easily enough in a decent race despite, despite, despite. I was surprised they held him up but can understand it being his first run back. As others have said, I expect him to get given his head in March and like Willie has said I don't have any worries on the jumping front. The Supreme looks very poor to me this year and I believe he'll win comfortably. Anyone on at big prices must be rubbing their hands together.

Obviously nice to be on at bigger
I was happy but not happy today, weird one
Obviously did so much wrong and still won which was impressive
But he HAS to do things right next time to win a Supreme. He's gone backwards in his mental state from his debut in Auteuil.
Kaid D'authie I'd have as in my head the biggest danger, so would want to see Kopek put him away at the DRF to become more confident on Mundi than I am currently.

Don't agree Darlo. He's run a decent race off a rushed preparation in a very good Triumph, bolted up in his maiden and just won the Moscow Flyer on his comeback. That is not a backwards trend at all.

It will have to be poor if. Horse that jumps like that today wins it,
I really hope he jumps a lot better than that come March.
It’s also a concern for me that they are saying he goes straight there now.
Best get the schooling sorted Mr Mullins!!

For his mental state???
Keen in the triumph
Tearaway at Tipperary
Pulled a cart today

Willie and Paul say no issues with his jumping. Just look at his other races. He was held up today which didn't help . He'll be fine come March. More than happy for him to go straight there. We are plenty close enough now and Willie will have him cherry ripe for the day.
