Main thing for me is that it keeps the Mundi Supreme and Kopek Turners combination intact. Just need Kopek to have done his hurdling homework since his debut...
I think relief would be the most rational reaction.
Anyone even more bullish is kidding themselves on.
They could be proved right mind you, it's just not the performance you'd like to see to fill the balls even more.

Yep, no chance in going there imo

          • 3/1? Jesus wept. I was on Kel so slightly disappointed in him, but Mundi at 3/1 is a honking price. I'd be looking elsewhere, won't cash my 50/1 on Kel yet either. Workahead still a nice price if that's what a 3/1 fav for the Supreme looks like, albeit in a fairly poor to average looking season.

But you'd want a 7/2 shot at this stage to not be trotting out excuses,
Good job we are all on ad 20+/1 Q

We can let the podcasters who aren't on decide whether he is backable at 7/2

yep 20-1 looks a good price now.
obviously less the money spaffed away on all the others.

                  It was though.

As COD said, those of us who remember Vautour's win in the race, which was way more unconvincing as Mundi's, and the punters afterwards who dismissed him as the Supreme winner, know that that was a performance of a very, very good horse. He'll win the Supreme like Vautour did Carnage,no worries and no need to back anything else now.

Just can’t jump like that and expect to win a Supreme
Yes he could improve with a faster pace but we don’t know for sure that he will.
Anyway I can’t cash out so will hope he does improve.
I'll buy your ticket off you

                    • Think Paul will try and give SM a similar ride to what Ruby gave Vautour. Let him get out front, see his hurdles and see if he's good enough. Problem is that Romeo Coolio might want to go from the front and Kaid if he goes there. Could be another burn up. Definitely something to consider when seeing final decs as you may get something slightly held up that can come through and place at decent odds.

I think it's shaping up to be a decent enough Supreme - better than last year's version anyway. Could be the best Tuesday we've had for a while if we get the right ones there - Supreme, Sir Gino Vs Maj, CH, BDA, Lossiemouth and the Donnelly horses, open Mares if BDA goes CH, and 3 hopefully competitive handicaps.

I've got a sneaky feeling they held him up today because they feel Kaid has to make the running due to his scope and stride.
I'd be surprised if he isn't out in front in Dublin.
If he's successful at Dublin it will be interesting what they decide to do with them on the big day.

Took 5/1 straight after and tempted to go in again.
Yeah Baby. Voice of reason. I agree completely.

                          • Well beaten in triumph on debut for connections
Hacked up in an awful race
Wins a weak graded race with about five excuses given as to why he'll improve a bundle, all of which have to be corrected for his next run with him likely going straight to the supreme

If we're being honest, he is the price he is right now because its looking like a bad supreme at this moment in time, and because he's a hype horse. Long term he may end up a star, but he's there to be beaten next time out if anything can find improvement or if there's an impressive maiden hurdle winner in the coming weeks, as he still looks to have a lot to learn.

                            • You have to factor in that he was Willies choice to run the Flyer. Some of his very best were kept for the race over the years. Willie knows.

I agree, except it nearly always looks a bad supreme at this point.
