  • Bit of a left field thought and wildly out of character for Willie, but since SM has had 3 runs over hurdles, I wonder if they could give him a run in a 2m handicap hurdle in Ireland ahead of Cheltenham.

Nearest example of this I can think of is Gaelic Warrior having a Cheltenham 'prep' in the 2m handicap hurdle at DRF before finishing 2nd in the Ballymore 2 years ago

I think people are panicking over nothing. If he hasn't run by first weekend on Feb, then I'll start to get worried.

      • If he doesn’t make the Moscow Flyer the rated novice hurdle Asian Master won at Navan en route to the Supreme could be a decent alternative.

        Jan.18th this year

As has been said, there’s plenty of time…

Run4Home, you’re probably aware quite a few of the Forum are invested in SM. Do you know how the team at Closutton would rank him against their other novices that have run this season - ie, is he still regarded as their main man?

Paul knew his fate a long way out on Jasmine and didn't kill him to get involved late on so perhaps he'll look a different horse at the DRF. Worth another chance.

The 2nd horse would be a big player in the Albert imo. Ran on really well without troubling the winner and clearly will benefit from the experience.
I knew someone was going to say that today

TYC should be in the AB only. Unless it really does turn out to be a poor year, his type would only have place claims for me in the Turners.

Every year, not just this season. It’s going on my gravestone along with backing P2P mares in the MNH

                          Keep up the good work.

If I can get TYC into the Albert I think I'd have all three Novice races sewn up......

                          In my dreams.

                          • That time of year when everyone is just doubling down on their initial novice hurdle thoughts. While the picture seems to be getting no clearer. I'm right there as well. Bring on the DRF! Or anywhere else for Salvator Mundi by the sounds of it...

                            • The picture definitely seems a lot brighter for the English Turners contingent after today's race that's for sure. Think JP knew what he was doing buying TNL and Potters is sitting pretty in his box as well.
