Seems strange he’d have two successive entries in traditional WPM trials for the Turners if he was thought of as a Supreme type. Guess the purchase of TNL could be a factor. As Exar said, Moscow Flyer entries will be informative.

It could also be a purchase with next year in mind too. If, and I appreciate it’s a big if, TNL is Champion Hurdle quality, it’d be JP’s first genuine challenger since Epatante. If he’s a chaser, it might be another dart for the Arkle and to ultimately that elusive QMCC.
Final thought, could the new ownership change TNL’s destination? Could the Bartlett be back on the cards? JP doesn’t have anything obvious for that.
Edit: Reading that back, I’ve mentioned the Champion Hurdle and The Potato race in the same post But he does look the sort that could be trained to go either way.Last edited by Exar Essay; 4 January 2025, 11:30 PM.

I wouldn’t surprise me if his thinking is simply that he can cover off one form line with this purchase, whilst thinking he has the Irish form line closed with one or two of his others.

He definitely doesn't strike me as an Albert type at all though.
