Not sure comparing him to recent Challow winners is advisable.
Yep. Wasn't a bog today. No comparison at all.

It's true. There is a definite bias towards what everyone has backed. That was obvious with the reaction to Kopek even though Jasmin got slammed about his jumping. Kopek was just as bad, if not worse at times!

That said, I've not backed The New Lion and wouldn't be entertaining it either, not at the current prices.

5/1 for a Skelton novice hurdler in a G1 at the festival that has been absolutely dominated by the Irish is just not for me.

Every chance I use some free bets to get him onside via roll ups, but not parting with cash!

        Bias lobos, keep up

I'd be shocked if The New Lion wins at the festival, actually i'd be super shocked

We've seen Harry before looking like he's on Pegasus, he did it just the other week when people were hyping up that Country Mile yoke, before getting stuffed against proper opposition.

But we'll see. The form is nothing to write home about now, but never is in England so hard to be definitive, but I've took a stance, like most do, in saying he's one I don't think will win at the fez. The good thing for me is he's now propping up the market nicely for top ups on what I'd like.

Kaid Dauthie would lap him if he went in a Ballymore, Willie exuding confidence in him just now, saying hes like Majborough in stature and also doing the same work at home as him. That'll do at 4x the price

Kaid might go supreme, would be a big player in either race imo

                  • I'd say with the post race comms from Mullins RE the DRF 2m G1 that Kaid would be more likely for the supreme than turners. I think he'd be the ideal supreme type on the front end and being able to stay further. Room for improvement in the jumping dept as well to unlock further improvement. He'd be my idea of the best horse we've seen for the supreme at this stage*

                    • Just keeps the prices up for the Irish novices who have a chance of winning

Yep and when they interviewed both jockey and trainer after country mile race both were very quick to downplay the performance. It’s very telling that they have already said he (TNL)is going straight to turners now as usually they swerve the festival grade ones with novice hurdlers with significant future potential and have said repeatedly they will only ever go with the right horse. They are giving you all the clues and have been for a few years now. My advice to folks is to listen and trust.

Sounds like he’ll be in the 2m grade 1 at DRF. See how he goes

                          • I might try and roll up The New Lion when the books are complete but i am not really that interested in him. We have seen this movie before with Hermes Allen et al. Looking like monsters and then getting their arse slapped by the Irish novices.

However, to me he looked like a lollopy old hector that needed a trip

If you don't like the price, don't roll him up mate. I think we are all guilty of doing this from time to time, but if we think a horse is too short then we should just leave them.

The time to do roll ups is when they are over priced, and you're multiplying value by value.

I liked The New Lion today but wouldn't be interested in his price. It'd be a surprise to me if he wasn't 4/1 at some point on the Wednesday morning.
