  • …..looks like the firms are taking cover on Kopek, 365 have now given him a haircut; best 20-1 Sup, 16-1 Turn.

    • ….from Mullins SL column;

      Kawaboomga;
      We think he’s a very nice addition to the team by a Polish horse called Tunis who is making a name for himself in France. This fellow was placed in a hurdle at Auteuil in March and that experience will be a big asset for him coming into this.

      Kopek;
      With Paul at Kempton, Patrick takes the ride on him. He’s by top jumping sire No Risk At All and looks a really nice type. We’ve been keeping him for Christmas and look forward to getting him started over hurdles.

      Redemption;
      A Grade One bumper winner and a course winner too so he has Leopardstown form. He’s a horse that will command a lot of respect. Patrick loves him and has elected to ride, and he’ll love the ground too.

        • I would say Moscow Flyer but it would be a very Willie thing to do to keep everyone guessing. Didn't he send Faugheen all over the place too, i think the only distance he didn't run was a 5f sprint at Southwell.

          • ….Patrick Mullins re Kopek;

            With Paul over at Kempton to ride Lossiemouth and Ballyburn it’s left me with a few presents back at home. I’m delighted to get on this horse, I think he’s a beast, a horse with size, scope, stamina, a beautiful horse," he beamed.

            “He blew me away in Fairyhouse, they went a real strong gallop that day and a horse of Nigel Twiston-Davies’ came over who’d had a few runs and our fellow just demolished him. The second horse won afterwards but got beat off 120 recently enough too but we beat him 13 lengths very easily.

            “I’d like to link that still puts us up pretty high up the ratings. Obviously, he didn’t come from the point-to-point or French route so it’s his first run over hurdles but he’s schooled very well at home.

            “I’m looking forward to riding him and think he could be one of our top novices this year. We do also have Kawaboomga in the race, a Tunis horse who was third at Auteuil. He’s done everything right at home too. I think Gordon and Henry have decent horses in there so it won’t be a pushover. It’s a race with a little depth but getting the ride on Kopek Des Bordes put a smile on my face on Monday morning.”

              • For those playing Kopek Des Bordes tommorow in the TWAF market are people taking the 25s for the ballymore or 12s for any race. Struggling to decide which is the better play.

                  There are a couple of decent horses in that race. Henry's horse looks potentially very nice and could be one of his festival horses come March. I'd have Kopek down as a Turners horse but just my view.

                    Think a lot depends on Mundi. 25s for a nice ticket or 12s for peace of mind. If you haven’t backed for either race already 12s is the safer choice and he’s no longer 25s for the supreme or the Bally. If not already invested, I’d take the TWAR. If you already have both races covered go with your gut. Good luck.

                      I've got him covered for both already but most of my multiples including him are for the Ballymore. I've been convinced since 3 minutes after the Triumph that Salvator Mundi was the Supreme horse so Kopek would be the Ballymore horse by virtue of them being Townends rides. I also think Kaid D'Authie will go Supreme based on the massive market move both on his debut (went off 1/3 I think) and after he drifted from the fall (50s and 33s back into 16s for supreme, no change for Ballymore - without running since).

                      I wouldn't put you off the any race as 12s is a considerably bigger price than I think kopek will be if he turns up in either race, but I'd strongly favour Ballymore ATM.
